Reviews for "Purged"

Beautiful

Although the production process may have been tedious for you the extra work really shows in the finished product. I thought it was well polished and quite fun to watch. What software did you use for the morphing by the way? Also, did After Effects allow you to export out the edited movie to .SWF format?

Excellent

The art style looks quite different than what I see every day on this website, but I have to give you credits for your efforts since you began with drawing the images on paper. The movie is very sophisticated --- I still have not fully understood the movie after watching it twice. Nonetheless, credits must be given to you for all your hard work and it is easy to tell that the movie is excellent, 9/10.

Entertaining

The clip was both confusing and enchanting. The fact that i didnt really understand most of the video the first time didnt stop me from watching it once again, and trying to understand your message. The music, the animation was enchanting. I would love to see more of your art James Lee. Please bring back Hania's music aswell i could listen to tracks like that all night long.
4/5 entertaining
5/5 music +++
The verdict has been made!

Interesting

I would have given this a ten, but I felt it was a bit too short and by the end I was a little confused. The animations were beautiful in a dark way, and I absolutely love Hania Lee's music! I want a copy of the song playing during the menu! PLEASE???

Here's what I can gather from this:

The place in the opening scene is Heaven, while the other place is Purgatory. The robots are angels. The man is an angel being trained. The woman is also a angel-in-training.

From what I can gather, the apple completes the angel training. However, the apple turns the person into a robot of sorts: since the angels (maybe ruled by God) are the authority over the universe and need to make logical decisions, they can't be blurred by emotions. Therefore: the apples give ultimate knowledge but blocks all emotions and turns them into a robot.

The man loves the woman, but does not want to give up this love for her, since the apple would quash that love. He refuses to take the apple because of his love, and is sent to Purgatory. The woman, however, takes the apple and her love is destroyed. This would explain the middle scene.

Perhaps he was given a second chance because of the investment made into him, or maybe it's mandatory that they are given a second chance.

Well, that's my two cents. Amazing flash, can't wait to see more.
