Reviews for "Hunters - Relic of Stars"

It was alright.

The controls were kinda clumsy.
Other than that i was a fun game.

rina-chan?

mutey mute mute mute

this is very good!

the whole game has a nice felling to it
and it's a lit like metroid
but it's conrols are kinda clumsy so 8/10

Smooth controls/gameplay, needs work on gfx/plot

Enjoyed the game, it was fun because of the responsive and friendly controls. Difficulty level was good. Lotsa games look great in the visual fx department but lack enjoyable controls/gameplay mechanics, so it's nice to see this game taking the gameplay route here, which is what matters most imho.

The upgrade to the weapon was a nice touch, although the new weapon kinda made using the old one sorta pointless, maybe some further balancing or adding scenarios that make changing weapons useful (example. maybe one gun is better at removing a barrier, etc).

Plot/Dialogue could use some beefing up, was a somewhat shallow and some parts felt like someone was just just reading off a sheet. Most games don't have deep plot anyway so it's not unusual to relegate this sort of thing to the bottom of the priority list.

Sound fx/music was enjoyable and suitable for the gameplay experience. I liked it overall. It wasn't too slow or annoying repetitive, and it wasn't too loud or overpowering. I think it was a good balance.

Graphics are an area that may need some improvement, the facial animations were good, but the quality of the character drawings was somewhat mediocre, perhaps it helped with the smooth gameplay experience to have simplified graphics I suppose, and the quality was sufficient enough to enjoy the experience.

Overall I was entertained with the game and looking forward to the next release.

Thanks for the review :)

Enjoyed it.

I played this all the way through n despite obvious things I found it very amusing. This game is reminiscent of the original duke nukem games. The controls were solid however I think a double jump mechanic for possibly "harder" platforming would be cool. The gameplay itsself was easy yet enjoyable. Loved the 3 "bosses". The one with the machine gun guy reminded me of this boss from an old school Robocop game xD .People keep saying "omgwtfwheredagraphics" etc, but I think the sorta childishly cartoonish nature adds to the games appeal. Could it be better ? Sure, but theres really nothing to complain about. If you were attempting to make an old school Duke Nukem'esque(obviously) game you succeeded. Only thing I could recommend is maybe a few more puzzle elements unless that goes against your "vision" of the series. Also, some alternate path's leading to a secret of some sort or possibly some lore. Maybe an underlying theme that isnt really present unless you obsessively explore. Possibly alternate endings based on completion or finding of said "secrets". Thats about the only ideas I can think of. All in all, you've created a nice throwback flash game. Enjoyed it. Keep the levels coming :P

Rhete responds:

Thanks for the review. For the most part, the game is very linear, but there are some well hidden routes and secrets in the upcoming levels. There's even a few easter eggs in stage 1 I don't think anyone has found yet.

Also, don't expect any puzzle elements, but do expect the action to ramp up considerably in the later stages.
