Reviews for "Not Your War"

Very cool arcade shooter

The game is great and the music rules (even though it's only one track).
I like the aiming mechanics, but the weapons seem few and inefficient. The missile targeting systems is screwy, it seems to prioritize fast fighters instead of slow moving drones and that is bad. Many times i shot the missiles while aiming the drones and they still went after the fighters, that they can never catch... Pls fix the missile priority system to target: 1 drones; 2 large ships; 3 any other ships; 4 fighters.
This game or a sequel will also benefit from a larger variety of player weapons, like plasma, lasers, AOE rockets and even automated drones. Also it would be nice to have a "reset career" option so u can start over if u don't like the weapon choices u have made...
Good game :)

Thanks. Give some love to the music authors if you liked it please.

Time to notice

CPU intensive means lots of people will see a VERY slow game, stressing the issues it has: lowsy upgrades, a level scheme that repeats equal, enormous amount of time waiting for somebody to show off, and dumb enemies who gets in the centre of the screen letting you all the time to shoot them while turning around, which makes the game too easy.
Got bored at level 6. If only the enemies would have known anything about battle formations, this wouldn't have happened. Integrating the gameplay with the storyline, too, would be good (where my upgrades are coming from if I'm basically fleeing from one place to another).
When I read the title "not you war" i thought of an avoider game where you pass through two factions in battle between them. Shame.
Consider doing a lighter game, by all means.

It looks great, it sounds great, it isn't great

I absolutely love this game's music and graphics, they are essentially what kept me playing. The storyline is alright. The controls work, I'm glad I could use the arrows instead of WASD. But what ruins the game that could have gotten a 9 or a 10 from me is the repetitive gameplay.

You practically stick with two different weapons all game long. One is your basic machine gun. Thank God you can hold the mouse button but autofire would be so much better. The other is that upgrade that shoots heavier bullets...but the fire rate is disgustingly low. The game description tells me they're good against big enemies like Generals. What it doesn't mention is that those have the company of about 500.000 drones against which the machine gun does a lot better.

You learn of all the enemy types (about 3-4 I think) in the first few levels, and from there they repeat, with minor variations like "these take more damage to kill" and "these shoot missiles that don't explode after a while" and "they're almost invisible at first". This, in combination with the same music, the same weaponry, makes the game very repetitive.

The bosses having a lot of health is fine, they're bosses after all. I don't have a problem with that. But they should have more of an indication on whether you're hurting them. Like, a life bar. I think there's some graphic change to them when they get hurt, just like the other enemies, but it's very detailed and you don't have the time to squint and look to see because there's too many things flying around trying to kill you.

its ok

but it gets so boring shooting so many pontless bullets on the general!!

Slow and steady wins the race

But makes for a boring action game.

Everything is too slow, I'm not saying you should make it twice as fast, but just a little... and the missiles should go for the nearest hot target, not the biggest

PLyczkowski responds:

If the game is too slow, try playing on google chrome with no tabs opened.
