Reviews for "Heavy Terror Machine"

I think...

It was nothing less that awe inspiring. The song works, the gameplay works, YOU GUYS WORK! It's like a well-oiled machine...lol.

Looks nice. Sounds nice. But plays? Not so nice.

I sorta get what you were going for but um.. It was lacking on almost every part gameplay wise.

As the previous guy said, no penalty to holding down the button meant that.. Theres no reason not to hold it down. Which then turns to.. Why is it even a button anyways? If you're going to have constant fire.. It should just be.. well.. Constant.

The blocking was.. Sort of nice but.. Really useless for most of the game. Early on, very very very few enemies even have missles. And later on, there are sections where you have five or six missles coming at you in rapid order. Making it so you can't counter attack at all.

The whole concept of blocking should be to negate damage, not cause you to take damage if you do anyways.

The whole thing felt.. well.. Bland. Not much you could really do but hold down one button and aim. If you blocked, you'd take damage anyways. If you didn't block, you'd STILL take damage.

I'd suggest at least letting you shoot down missles or blocking negates all damage. Or perhaps let you block gun fire, but need to shoot down the missles?

Beyond that, it looked nice, and sounded nice.. But as a game, it fails pretty badly.

MindChamber responds:

I agree, we might update this later.

thanks for the review.

Decent start:

Graphics are good :)
Sound is good :)
Mechanics are good :)

..gameplay...not so much.

You can't control your speed or movement in any way...just your aim. There's no penalty for holding the button to shoot so there's no reason to ever NOT be shooting. There are no accuracy bonuses, no charging up of your weapons, no reloading, overheating, nothing whatsoever...which is, in itself fine.....except that combined with everything else that also wasn't present in this game, it's kind of pointless.

I kind of get what you were going for by only having the shield block missiles....the idea of ch..oosing between your combos and your health..but really, the special attack really didn't seem all that useful to me at any point. I mean...it looked call and all, but that's about it.

No concept of upgrades, really... you get more weapons but they're given to you arbitrarily, not chosen or earned and since the enemies get more difficult as you go along...the weapons just offset the harder enemies so...not much has really changed.

All of the makings for a decent game are here, they really are. So far as playability though, it's just extremely limited with no choices of any kind and no sense of accomplishment whatsoever.

Keep at it though...I look forward to seeing Heavy Terror Machine 2: The NIGHTMARE ;) (or something)

not bad but still lacking some stuffs

score 158 603

Intersting at some point but gets boring and too little bosses
there could be like we to choose what to be upgraded
and more upgrades
perhaps a score board :)

MindChamber responds:

I agree with the upgrading system.

But there is a scoreboard

100271 score in the end

pretty boring, those machine gun vehicles were annoying, they were really fast and suicide bombed me. The bosses were all pretty easy, the graphics of the enemies and you were alright, but why were they all green? the backgrounds were pathetic though. Maybe make it a bit more challenging. Give us a story? Like your robot mates or bits of you are scattered and your going to find them and THEN fuck stuff up. But that probably would have gotten just as tedious as this. Change the background now and then, different countries sky scrapers and stuff in the backround, change the music the loop is really short and dull. Maybe after each real boss you could have a countries monument of some kind? I don't know. But it was dull, an infinite amount of enemies, walking at the same dull speed and not being able to change or move in any other way. Machine gun fire hurts a giant robot? It would probably just bounce off. Boring, do better next time.

MindChamber responds:

We'll try to do better next time,
