Reviews for "Growth, The Game"

Spend some time playing, folks...

There's actually a lot going on here. Part of the fun is figuring out what to do. It is indeed a playable game.

The grass isn't greener

Seriously? A game about watching grass grow? What's next? Paint drying? This isn't a game. Give us something to do, not a green dot that gets bigger and bigger, but doesn't do anything else.

Am I missing something?

This game really needs some instructions. As far as I can tell there is no way to control anything. Maybe the point is to watch the dot in the center. I have watched it for 10 minutes or so and I think it has gotten a bit larger, then again maybe I imagined it. In any case whatever it is doing needs to happen faster as I doubt very many people have the patience to watch this for very long.

ok so heres the deal

you need to let people know what to do. you need to click on the damn light green dot, an it keeps growing an thats how you get money as well. this might be a fun game but im still working on it. Please inform people what your suppose to do.... i know its not much but some people just might be confused :D

Don't judge this book by its cover

At first, I thought this game was going to be pretty rushed. Not wanting to jump to any conclusions, I started playing regardless. The cartoon in the beginning made me think it wasn't going to be that great, and as did the $1337 for "something" and gaining $1337 for clicking on the growth.
Upon unlocking the upgrade options, I couldn't help but to keep playing out of curiosity. The dirt upgrade made me think two things at once: good, more detail; seems a bit simple. I was also confused about the dirt not covering everything.
Then I thought about it more deeply while waiting for nuggets to pop up, and I decided that it began as a bird's eye view and changed to a angular view. Whether or not this was intentional, I liked the idea. Finally getting a sky, everything started to look a lot better. The view also changed, of course, to a more satisfying view for the objective of the game.
The graphics started to appeal to me much more having both the dirt and sky. The clouds really caught my eye. Although it was simple, as I'm sure it was intended to be, I liked it.
I really am glad I didn't just leave at first. This is one game that really fits the saying "don't judge a book by its cover." I haven't finished it yet, but I just wanted to get this review out of the way so I don't forget. Hopefully others who read this will play this game expecting what I hadn't at first.

There are a few problems I've encountered, however. Only one problem that would appear to be a bug - the rest are just based on preferences.
The bug, or at least what seems like a bug, is that gold nuggets stop appearing after the second dirt upgrade on up. I think this may have been a layering issue and the nuggets could have accidentally been placed behind these layers, making them impossible to see.
Another thing I'd personally like to see changed, although this is just based on preferences and not a real problem and nor does it hinder gameplay in any way, is a transparent shadow for menus.

Small problems aside, this is a wonderful game and it's very relaxing to play. I also enjoy how I can do something else without having to devote all of my time to it. I'd love to see a polished and upgraded version of this game if you ever want to revisit the idea.
