Reviews for "Pestilence Z"

Great Overall

I played this flash quite awhile, and it would even have plenty of replay value with the other characters. The battle system was pretty good, though I ended up being killed by 2 female zombies when I missed 15 attacks in a row. 40% accuracy, yeah right.

Liked it

The zombie wall thing just seems like lazyness of programmers :S but I really enjoyed the games. (more special items like the flamethrower pls ^^) Ammo was no prob once I realized that it wasn't thougth for popping shells in to random zombie brains XD. And the last tunnel thing was the only tricky part. (btw medic rulz)
Good job but pls I know you're acting as if zombies should be able to go through walls but why can they pass through dirt in underground levels too? I really think you guys were to lazy ;D.

TL;DR Zombiewallrun(even if intentional) is lame, rest is awesome, longer sequel pls
9/10 5/5

Has great potential

I found this game to be very entertaining for a few hours. Could this use improvement? Yes. However, I feel the only improvement that does need to be made is to make the game more in-depth. Make a deeper story line, include other characters, and, of course, specialize the weapons more.

Jagged alliance ... now with zombies

Apart from controlling only one character and having separate battle screens, this is very much like Jagged alliance... which is good, I liked that game and when you take into account that this is made in flash, this is a rather good game in the same genre.

That being said, I found three things that I don't like about this game:
1. Zombies having no clipping, so they can go through walls. I can see why this was done, but as they cannot attack diagonally, it only speeds up the game a bit, and might as well be taken out.

2. Not being able to shot zombies at close range: While I see (in the real world) why it might be a problem to shoot a large rifel or shotgun, when you are standing face to face with a enemy, you should be able to raise a handgun and blow zombie brain. It might prove to be a fun game mechanic to add: Close quarter gunfight; either you kill the zombie, you disable the zombie or you hurt yourself.

3. In the battlescreen some zombies sometimes advance 50 meters instead of 25 meters. While it does add some level of difficulty to the game, it is most unpleasant that several zombies does this at the same time, and that the knockback attack have a tendency to only work once a battle in these situations.

These are of course only small complaints, about a otherwise good game.

So Much Fun!

I've played through and beaten this with each class now, and I love it! The Vet was by far the best class, in my opinion; nothing like mowing down zombies from a distance with near-guaranteed head shots >:D. I game across two glitches and two minor issues though:

Glitch #1: On the top floor of the doctor's mansion, whenever I beat all the zombies, I wasn't allowed to move around freely like you could in other areas; I could only move a few spaces at a time. It seemed to fix itself when I exited and re-entered though.

Glitch #2: I can't remember where it was, but inside one of the houses, two of the tile spaces that I originally picked items up from suddenly started flashing randomly with different pictures when I came back to the area. It didn't effect the gameplay at all, but it was still weird.

Issue #1: It would have been nice to be able to adjust sound and tutorial options from inside the game, rather than having to save and go back to the title menu. Extremely minor inconvenience, but it would have been a nice touch.

Issue #2: As a girl, I find it a little unfair that the nurse was made to look like helpless eye-candy on the menu background image while the guys got to look badass. She may not have been my favorite character to play as, but she could still hold her own.

Can't wait for the next installment!
