Reviews for "Demon Runner"

TOO FAST AND HARD

Too fast and on third stage they all look almost exactly the same.

Interesting

The one that looks like a house push UP.
The one that looks like a ditch push DOWN.
The one that looks like a bumpy patch push LEFT.
The one that looks like a flat stump push RIGHT.
I agree with the lack of animation thus it gets a 7. Good idea though.

uhhhh.

the arrows were the same and the obstacles are all too similar; there's not really anything obviously suggesting one obstacle requires one arrow key and another obstacle requires another. Therefore when you reach an obstacle it effectively becomes trial and error. yes i copyed most of that from MSLynk

ummmm...

the object of the game is to jump over the obstacles to get away from the demon right? well....why cant you jump over any of the obstacles? thats ridiculous....

Interesting concept, sub-par execution.

The game itself in this case is nice and simple, with a good pretext, and the music is good. The animation is smooth and there's a certain flow to the gameplay.

But there's a few major issues with it that I can't ignore, thus why it gets a 6. The first major one is there is no intuitive difference between the different arrow keys; they all use the exact same animation, and as such when you trip over an obstacle because you hit the wrong key it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Related to that issue is another major problem with the game, similarly a problem with a lack of intuition. The obstacles are all too similar; there's not really anything obviously suggesting one obstacle requires one arrow key and another obstacle requires another. Therefore when you reach an obstacle it effectively becomes trial and error.

Long story short, while I enjoy the game the way that the obstacles is presented isn't intuitive, and it kills the flow. Even prompting you with one of the arrow keys when you reach a new obstacle would improve this game slightly; giving the obstacles and your dodging animations some more variety would help as well.
