Reviews for "Mechanical Ice Apocalypse"

5/5 Rating

This game was simple but was a lot of fun to play. It was easy to notice the pattern though it wasn't always easy to survive. The art work and audio drove this game quite a lot and made it my favorite of "Game Jam 2".

I found it difficult to find any gameplay glitches or bugs, however if I understood correctly there is suppose to be a medal for beating the game (or I would hope so) and yet I did not receive it. That alongside the zero checkpoint policy can make it frustrating for anyone looking to collect medals here on Newgrounds.

The game is rightfully short but I do hope that you will either extend it for create a sequel as I am sure i'll very much enjoy it. Hopefully with any full version or sequel you can improve the medal system and add a checkpoint or health system.

Keep up the good work, and I hope to see more! :)

Great game!

I really loved it! Still got to finish, though, but I'm almost there. XD

People complain about the 1 Hit KO, and trial & error. That's because they don't seem to really understand what this kind of game (touhou style) is all about.

Great job! Rock on!

This is...

Wow. This is INSANE...ly difficult.

FUCKING AWESOME

MARRY ME XELU!!

Version updates?

Nice game.
You say in 2.0 many bugs are fixed. However, I can only play 1.5. Can you please explain how version updates work on this site?

bcdefg123 responds:

Once a Flash gets to a certain amount of views (about 5,000, although I'm not completely sure), you get a popup whenever you try to edit the .swf. This popup basically says that the update will go under administrative review for 24-48 hours, and resubmitting basically ruins your chances of winning awards (although that doesn't apply for us now unless winning the Game Jam is considered an award. In that case, we're screwed :P). So basically you have to take things slow then. We submitted the update about 5:00 PM EST yesterday (just a guess) and it's almost noon now. So we have a bit to go before the 24 hour mark. Hope this sheds some light on the situation. - Brian
