Reviews for "BearBound"

hmm

Not bat at all, nice simple game. maybe you should make the sequel, the complex version

I LOVE THE LIL BEAR

I liked the fun of seeing the lives of bears, how much fun it was to find the archiviements, the beautiful music, and finally the tension of not finding a safe place, GREAT GAME so I give the 10 stars and vote 5

ok game

fun game. Controls were good, and graphics were good but overall it's short and the medals are easy to get. The humor is a nice touch though.

Too easy.

It wasn't difficult to find all the medals. But good graphics though.

JackSmack responds:

The aim wasn't to make a hard game. Though some people can't find certain endings so it can't be that easy.

The purpose is just exploration with a bit of humor thrown in. And in this game jam I wanted a solid experience that was as bug free as I could make it. So it's a fairly simple game.

Right now we are thinking about expanding the game some though it will be a while.

A Bit Too "Epic"

I love the art and the feel of the game. Thematically, all the sound and visual elements come together. At its core, this is basically a maze game. There isn't much to it: walk around, dodge storms, and find the "exits." Therein lies the big problem with the game. Given this simple premise, the game map is too large. Because there isn't an increasing level of difficulty, or variable objects/obstacles/puzzles, the game gets boring really quick. I didn't find myself wanting to play the entire game to get all the medals. This is an indication that the vibe of the game can't overcome the weaknesses in playability.

I ultimately decided to give the game a "7". You did a good job within that framework of making a clean, smooth, professional-looking game, lacking in major bugs and glitches. I am not a flash programmer nor a game designer, but I can imagine that is no small feat to pull off. The game was just missing the playability elements to take it from being "good" to "great."
