my half-life isn't long enough
Kind of makes me think of a hypothetical game where you're a radioactive atom with a half-life of 1 second, and the goal of the game is to survive for 10 seconds. Or 20 seconds. You want to know why so few have won it, that's why! Each time, you have a probability of making the shot, a probability of missing. If you're good and you have a smooth running computer, maybe 80% probability once you get a bit into it. But what's 0.8 to the 20th power? A small number, that's what. But that's only the start of the difficulty. At least on my computer, with this game, I have a profound disadvantage, because it stalls often, and runs slower at some times than others - so if I see cameman A walking at a certain rate, I'm not really sure if he's walking at the same pace I saw caveman B walking at a minute earlier just because he looks like he's walking the same speed, and it may turn out he's actually walking faster but my computer is stalling more, and so the icicle falls slower than I imagined because it only looked like the caveman was walking slowly because my computer was stalling and I miss.
I also am annoyed by the fact that I got past 100 points once but because I wasn't logged in, it doesn't show up. I then logged in, and it still didn't show up, so apparently you must be logged in AT the time or else your score is consigned to oblivion. Hmph.
On the other hand, though it is tedious, it IS at least potentially possible for you to carry yourself on from any point. By contrast I recently played another game 2 times, because that was all I could stand, where you had to know what was coming and prepare for it, either through precognition or having played the game before up to that point, because you would have to respond to a situation faster than your little ship could move, and if you didn't, you had to start all the way over (like this). At least with this, there's no memorizing necessary, if you have a steady computer, there is a clearly observable periodic range of time you can press the button to hit the target and proceed through the game. Kind of like one of those price is right games, where you want the price of the thing to fall in a certain range.
The "you got it", "all right" and "kickin' ass" interjections are very annoying, however. Though I could imagine it being more annoying, if there was an instrumental funeral dirge or something. Still, you should take that out.
