Reviews for "§Arbiter§ - Dark Winds"

This one is great as well...

but i prefered the other one. Mainly because of that little part where you have the pan flute or thing followed by the bells. That was my least favorite part of the song.

So tell me what's next after that? Are you going to make more VG remakes/remixes or are you going to go for a composition of your own?

I'd really like to see the second one happening.

Exellent song. And if nobody told you, welcome to newgrounds :)

Arbiter responds:

I'm not into remixes/remakes.
It's 100% original material, and so it will continue to be.
And I've been greeted already, but thanks :)

waw =)

what can i say? :P excellent work :)

GREAT!

As other ppl said this is a great work!
Very well done and clear.
I can't download it, unfortunately..
It seems to be a database error..damn :(

Keep up the good work and WELCOME to the newgrounds audio area!

Awesome

You seem to really like the percussional aspects _Arbiter_, and I love you for making them. I love the percussional set up in both songs.

This song starts off with epic strings, right away i'm in my seat holding my battle axe to any who would dare venture near me.

Many lives will be lost today >:(

I must say I love the brass you introduce in this piece. The swelling horns, really, I have little words to describe it, oh wait, yes I do, here they is!

Those brass instruments work effectively because they don't need the emphasis of any other instruments! I feel they have more power by themselves because you are tapping into the very center of their power. It quite hard to explain really, I hope you understand what i'm trying to say.

Enough with that. Lets get on with the rest of the song. Again I feel the choirs were a tad bland. I would have liked to see more from that department.

I wonder, to myself mostly though, what this song would be like if a few strange twists were added. I realize these next few suggestions would alter the core of the song, but still I am curious, how would this song sound like with an arpeggiated harp, strumming a constant melody, perhaps supporting the percussional stuff?1!11Shift+1. Yes indeed, strange thought. Just thought i'd throw it out there.

The flute part was a tad bit too random for me, yet it was well done. Strange, a little off for me, but never the less like everything else here well produced.

Thats all from me for now _Arbiter_ keep them coming ^^.

You're a welcome addition to Newgrounds Audio!

Great job! This music reminding me of Warcraft 2 music towards the beginning, but I think that has to do more with the brass samples you have. Nice Motif, would certainly work well in a movie or game, hence the "SoundTrack" label.

You've heard some of my music I know, and you probably can tell I love throwing in epic strings and choirs to my epic orchestral pieces (although most of my trailer and videogame soundtracks feature that more than anything else). It sounded like your choirs were intending to give the piece body it needed, but I think they came in too abruptly and were a little middle-heavy (gave it a nasal sound), I would recommend separately EQing them and bringing out the low and mid-ranged sections, but reduce the higher end. That should give you the full sound without breathy, awkward sounding noises (assuming you're using some decent choir samples). You may want to simply add choirs an octave lower to supplement the existing ones, that may fix this problem.

Also, the reverbing seemed off too, I believe you put more reverb onto the drums and held back on everything else a bit. I would put reverb size to the max, but keep it almost completely dry. The choirs could have used a little reverb too.

Don't get me wrong here, this is a great piece! I can tell that you're not very new to audio, I can also safely say you are already among the best of the Audio Portal. Every one I've heard on Newgrounds has improved as they add tracks and gain experience (which you would hope to be the case), so I can't wait to see where you are a few months from now.

I'm going to try to check out all of your pieces you upload and at the very least vote a good score for them all. Great job, I really hope you get some reorganization!
