Reviews for "Hiroshima"

Er...

You do understand if we didn't drop the bomb that many more lives then 200,000 would've been lost right? It was the only option we had, and if you disagree with it then that's fine, but IT WAS the right thing to do.

counter point to last review

The bomb in no way secured us any rights. By the time the bomb was used japan was incapable of any type of resonable counter offensive and thus was no threat to the mainland United States or our rights and government. The bomb was used to end the war quickly and to save the lives of american soldiers, but it did this by killing civilians instead. The direct and intended use of any weapon on civilians in war or any other situation is an inapropriate use of power and thus I don't believe we were wrong in using the bomb, but we erred greatly in its application.

For shame America.

Well you learn something new everyday but i really had no idea how bad it was for Japan in WWII with that bomb,no reason why this would be offensive to anyone (except the ignorant) but more of a history lesson, good artwork came with it too so great job.

Animation good, Message off

Let me start off by saying that the movie was well done and the graphics were good as well. However, since you made a film with a message, I feel like I should convey my opinion on the matter. Without a doubt, the bombing of Hiroshima was an awful event, as was the later bombing of Nagasaki. It seems to me though, that the bigger picture is being forgotten here. The mentality of the Japanese military, and of citizens of Japan, at the time of WW II was that they were lead by not just an emperor, but a god. Therefore, they were prepared to fight to the last man to defend their nation and their emperor. Which leads me to the point that the use of the atomic bomb seemed almost inevitable. How many lives, Japanese and American, would have been lost if a full-scale invasion of Japan were used instead of the bombs? Also, after witnessing the immense power of the atom bomb, Japan did not immediately surrender. As I said before, it took a second bomb to finally convince Japan that it was in their best interest to surrender to the U.S. I think if you are going to have such a message in your movie, you should do a little more to put it into context.

Good graphics, good sound, good effort, Bad Opinio

The movie has a good base, but what was this guy thinking? The Japanese bombed United States soil first!!!! We were just trying to stay nuetral, then they bombed Pearl Harbor. They got what they deserved. Serve your country and watch your friends die for it. You'll understand what I mean.
