I enjoyed it *spoiler*
I want to say it's a very simple TD game, but that's not doing justice. In fact, I think it's the very essence of a tower defense presented in a very simple setting. Just a single plane, one 'base' to protect, and one dimensional enemies, the very basic elements that many have built upon. It was executed very well, up to a point. I really enjoyed the first several waves, up until around the time I unlocked the last 'tower'. The difficulty was just enough to keep me on edge without being frustrating. The graphics were fine, and the music seemed fitting. The play control was fine, though I would love to be able to read unit descriptions while the game is paused - gives me a minute to think about things strategically.
However, after the point of greatness, this game seems to go downhill pretty quickly. It gets monotonous and even tedious. It's not that I'm trying desperately to survive the next wave (that in itself exciting if done correctly) but that I'm simple adding more and more ships to my growing armada. The healing ships were a great asset (I really liked them) but I think they can be exploited pretty easily to create a basically immortal net of defenders. Once I got the missile ship, the laser and gun seemed more like fodder or physical walls than actually threats to the enemy. More times than not my own missiles killed them anyway. A few missiles drones with a few healers = certain victory.
I really didn't know what to make of the final upgrade. Unless I misunderstood it, it is simple a physical barrier with a ton of health. It presented very marginal usefulness to me. A better alternative would to be a better weapon or (even betterer) a different mechanic (Shoot/Heal/??).
Overall, though, I enjoyed this game, and I hope to see more from the author. Thanks!
