You're definitely onto something with this.
The Pros
- Great atmosphere, just like the classic arcade games of yesteryear.
- Nifty choice of music to set the mood.
- Simple to understand controls.
- Ferocious intensity, especially when you're coming up against 30 monsters on-screen.
- Good variety of weapons to pick up.
- Simple enough concept. Kill everything that moves and reach the other end of the room.
- Unlockable extras make for great replayability.
The Cons
- Combat is pretty much hit or miss, depending on what you're up against and what weapon you have.
- Kinda short. Mileage is definitely gonna vary for others, even with the extras.
- Major slowdown issue when multiple enemies are on screen and/or when firing a weapon rapidly. Perhaps a downloadable for desktop play could work?
- Enemy AI gets kinda weird at times.
- Needs more weapon variety. Especially if you have a large swarm of enemies coming your way. Rifles and/or screen clearing ultra bombs, anyone? I know this ain't Metal Slug, but think about it.
Overall, I think this is a very well put together game. It's got a few areas where it could use some work, but I think it's deserving for front page material. Nicely done.
