Reviews for "Submerged"

I like this, the imagery is definitely in the music. I think it's the harp sounding instrument I hear that really drives the underwater home, and the bassline being slow sort of gives the feel of the unsure steps of exploration.

stunkel responds:

Thanks for leaving feedback! Yeah the harp was definitely a big factor in writing this song. That plus the solo violin along with the piano was all very beneficial to the whole underwater feel. The defending baseline too! That was a big factor as well, the slow movements were very influential to that mystic exploration. Thanks for reviewing!

I like it, though the title doesn't fit the song for me. "The Sweet Depths of Atlantis" would go more with the song. Or replace Atlantis with some other name. Submerged sounds like something that would come from a darker themed song, but maybe that's just me.

stunkel responds:

Yeah I actually considered naming this Atlantis, but to be honest I think that the only part that would fit the theme of "Atlantis" would be the ending. Everything else was too relaxing. I like the suggestion though! "Depths" would have been a cool word to use with a song like this. The song is has a lot of emotions coming from it, so naming it was a little difficult, but I'm pretty happy with the name it has now :3 Thanks for the suggestion though! I appreciate the concern.

Thanks for listening and commenting!

This was very well made man! Keep it up! I really liked the cello and violins you put in there. Everything was well mixed together, and the dynamics were great, making it that much better.

stunkel responds:

Oh thanks! Glad you liked it :3 I listen back and I'm unsure about the mix... it sounds a little muddy but I think that actually works very well with the underwater feel! Thanks for the kind words and the review! :D

Very heavy chords! I love the soft paced piano holding the rhythm and the pizzicato strings later on. Goodness, it just sends many feels. Your sounds are super too, no qualms about quality. It does take a bit for build up, but I'm happy for the length; most tracks of this caliber on ng last about 2 minutes, which is hardly cinematic. Excellent experience <3

stunkel responds:

Thanks for reviewing sir!

It's good that the song sent you through many feels because that was one of my goals when writing this :p And I take you saying my sounds are good as a huge compliment, I personally don't think so (don't get me wrong East/West has amazing content, I just don't know how to use it properly), but I do appreciate you saying that because that is what I have been working on more so lately. With my songs I tend to take my time while building it up... Perhaps I should try a song that changes up more often and is more dynamic in that sense. It would be a nice challenge since I don't do it so often.

Thanks again for taking a listen :D

I like it. Very much I do.
I can imagine a post-apocalyptic underwater fictional world just by the music you made. It's awesome that you can create worlds through music. I can already think of a story about this.
Though i think the underwater theme was somewhat lost at middle part (I don't know really) but it still blends with everything perfectly.
Really Awesome 6/5.
Because fuck scoring systems

stunkel responds:

Thanks man :) That means a lot to me.

The post-apocalyptic underwater idea is a cool idea! I find it hard to picture certain things through this song but post apocalyptic can work pretty well! The middle part flowed well I thought, but maybe it wasn't best for underwater.

Thanks for the hypothetical 6 out of 5 XD
