Reviews for "Secret of Mystery House"

well...

the concept is cool and i do love point and click games, but half of the games dialouge is in spanish or something, i dont know if thats part of the game or what? and the gameplay is kinda slow even for a point and click game, but it looks like you worked hard on it so ill give it 5/10.

RetroRex responds:

Thanks. Yeah the game was done in spanish originally, and I translated most I could, but hte thing is since every room had hot spots I probably skipped many of them, but tI will translate it tonight. I appreciate it, yes I spent couple nights working with this late. And I agree the game is slow, maybe I can ramp up the frames per second.

Espaniol?

While a good point and click game from a game play point of view, the requirement that the player be bilingual would throw a lot of people off almost immediate.
If you iron out the language issues and maybe give users the option of English or Spanish.
I would give it a higher score, but as it stands I'm giving it a 5/10 due to feeling like I'm missing out on important story elements.

RetroRex responds:

THank you, I will iron out the language issue, since the game ain't suppose to be bilingual but instead it was done in spanish and translated to english in a rush way, actually this morning LOL. I will actually add more message though.

Not bad

Not a bad game at all really. I ended up fnishing in 20 minutes, while talking to friends and doing other stuff at the same time, lol. The puzzles are all challenging but definitely not challenging enough to need a walkthrough for, just a little bit of effort and trial and error. It sucks that most of the messages were in spanish, I wish you had translated all of those too, but oh well. I guess that just adds another element of challenge, LOL.

The gameplay was really easy to figure out, and I liked that aspect a lot. Not challenging controls at all. The sounds were all very appropriate and not irritating. The drawings were all good, and the animation was up to par. All in all a great mystery point and click type game. Keep up the good work.

RetroRex responds:

Thanks, I pretty much planned this game a lot in a drawing board, hooking up the puzzles and what not. Just a simple grab and play point and click scavenging game. I will actually work on a sequel for it, but I guess it wont be done anytime soon. Probably in couple months. Thanks for the score.

good, but buggy

Its a good game, but still has his bugs. For example, the sound keeps repeating itself when going out and in the room, and some text is still in spanish. It is a promising game however.

RetroRex responds:

Appreciate you like the game and yet took the time for observations. I htink I could polish this game even more making sure to clear out those bugs, for instance sometimes the arrow is misplaced in the map, while some text still spanish... I shoul've spent more time lceaning this game before posting it.. but oh well, I was in a hurry I guess hehe. THanks.

Excellent.

Excellent game! But, is too slow, and I think that is very similar to Resident Evil.
Anyways, excellent game. You have my 5.

RetroRex responds:

Indeed Resident Evil was an inspiration, a top view resident evil without killing zombies. The piano song, the stairs, the door, it is basically a Resident Evil tribute hehe. But instead of clunky controls you point n click. Thanks for your score!
