Reviews for "Shattered Colony"

Pretty fun game.

This game was pretty good. Simple controls, simple buildings and fairly lenient on the difficulty. Only one problem, the game DESPERATELY needs a speed-up button. Not only do the zombies move fairly slow, they sometimes get confused and wander around back streets and crap, and all you can do is wait. The pace is fine for when you're building stuff, but when you don't have anything useful to build and are just waiting to clean up the rest of the zombies, it was got so dull that I started playing Solitaire just to wait for them to die.
Other than that, it was a pretty fun game, and I spent a good 3 hours or so enjoying it.

great game

Great overall

A pretty great game overall, a nice blend of survival and RTS. Although there were quite a few things that could be improved upon without too much work

The sound effects for barricades breaking was a tad on the obnoxious side, as well as a tad loud considering a barricade is mostly just some boards in this scenario.

I also found some issues with survivors encountering zombies, there was no way I could find to guide them around, and if they ran into a zombie they would more or less wander aimlessly. In the last level I had a lot of issues with the pre-placed barricades and survivors trying to run to them and repair them and/or break them down when I didnt really want to touch them either way.

A great game overall, room for improvement. Hopefully a sequel?

Almost perfect.

There are too many good things about this game to list off so instead I'll just go into the one thing keeping this game from getting a perfect 10: the survivor A.I. Sometimes it is just downright awful and game breaking. For instance, if you have an obstacle blocking the most direct path to a destination, the survivors will find a way around it. Which is great. But sometimes even after you remove the obstacle, the survivors will continue to take the long route which can lead to them running into zombies or taking far too long to move supplies. Also, if you lose a tower along the front line of your defense the A.I. completely shuts down. Half of the survivors freeze and the other half run around aimlessly. There are a few other issues with the A.I., but those two are the most problematic for me. Sometimes, you can play an hour long level and never run into them, but when they do, you lose a game that you shouldn't have. But like I said, it's still an almost perfect game.
