Experimental Awesomeness.
I was expecting the Lees' next release would be a "Tarbot" sequel. And usually when a movie is categorized as "Experimental" it's asking to be blammed, but "24 in 24" is different.
The concept behind the movie actually has a name: Burrough's cut-up technique. The idea is to separate and recombine contents to create a new, bizarre and occasionally inspiring experience. There's no storyline to elaborate further, but hey, that's the whole point of the movie.
The segments I particularly enjoy are:
1. The element of surprise. How often can one witness an ice-cream truck chasing a kid?
8. It reminds me how "Fantasia" devoted an entire segment to forms and shapes changing in rhythm with sweeping orchestral music. Go Hania!
19. Zombie cupcake apocalypse! To eat or to be eaten, that is the question. Great atmosphere.
Even when James Lee forced himself to work under a strict time limit the result can still easily surpass the majority of Flash animations posted on NG.
