You, Sir... are a God.
I really can't even begin to express my love of this game in words. The closest would probably have to be the ultimate sex fantasy of all time, but then I realised that sounded kinda lame and nothing lame should ever be associated with this masterpiece.
The game is just so simplistic... but that's a part of its charm. It lures you in, reminding you of the good times -- of how games used to be. It gives you a little bite, then withdraws, leaving you with that longing for more on the tip of your tongue. The pixels reach out and draw you in, inviting you into their world with a dead-drop gorgeous sway of their non-existent hips. And that little back story? That's the morning after pillow talk -- that a game so simplistic at the depth of its core to have a surprising little story makes me love it even more.
The best thing that you've done for this game has to be the trophies. My lord it makes the game even more addictive than it already was. I just had to keep coming back until I got the "Defender of Pixela-rt" (which I did today). The highscores are a good touch as well, increasing the replay value of the game.
So, basically, what I'm trying to say is this. You, Sir... are a God.

Just irretocable.
The upgrades are balanced, the enemies provide different challenges, and the graphic style is simple to read.
One nitpick: the "Vessel" enemies are by FAR (far, far, far, far) the most difficult to deal with. The mini-Grunts are difficult to see, slip through the shots and just one of them can kill the ship very fast. Compared to them, Seekers were child's play.

i got so far. only like 5 or 6 achievements left AND I ACCIDENTLY HIT THE HOME BUTTON!!! D:<
but with the exception of my misfortune it is very fun and addicting.... if i hadn't been playing for like 40 minutes straight i would try again.... ;(
