Reviews for "TANK MAN"

Fun but one annoyance

Although short, I find that I love the retro style of gameplay, the graphics, and the music. Good job.

My only annoyance is that I can't figure out how to select my weapon. I understand that it has to do with my arrow keys, but I just can't seem to get it. Call me stupid, but it's starting to annoy me since I wanted to play with the Portal Gun.

Lambtaco responds:

Pause first, lol. I guess if you never played Megaman it's not so obvious.

I ALWAYS LOVE TANKMAN

WELL EXCEPT THE HORNY PARODY VIDEOS

I unlocked everyone's favourite plumber and I don't even know how.

Lambtaco responds:

You beat the game on normal difficulty.

A decade and one year later, and this game still rocks, man! The controls are fluid, dare I say a little bit better than the official games too. The Special Weapons included, while a small amount, are all fun to use.
Both playable characters, Tank n' Rock, even if the gameplay stays relatively the same between the two, I love the small change of ability between the two that adds to the dynamic of how you process the situation, as TankMan's Power Kick makes quick work of the standard Mets, and Mega Man's Charge Shot does wonders against the larger enemies.
The stage itself was very pleasant to play through, with plenty of secret areas and/or upper paths to take throughout. the boulder section was a nice change of pace without entirely stopping the motion of the rest of the level. The enemies within' are well done, though it would've been cool to see some of the enemies from the Tankmen series, but I think Portal Man at the end makes up for it at the end!
Being able to use his special weapon, although felt a little underwhelming, with the strength of the normal Buster Shots, but it was still cool to use nonetheless.

That being said, I couldn't find any flaws throughout (aside from wanting more stuff in it-). The art and music were great, the gameplay was super fun to play through, and it's just a blast! Plus it's become more relevant thanks to Mega Man 11's release back in 2018, and TankMan's appearance in Friday Night Funkin' this year. Overall, this is just an amazing game for fans of Mega Man, Tankmen, or just platformers in general.

Lambtaco responds:

Thanks for this. It's so rare that reviews on NG are actually reviews.

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure Portal Man's weapon has armour piercing properties. Kills mets when they're hiding and such.

is very cool
