the ending i dont get when the apple starts stabbing the orange but

because the food around them was rotten and the only hope for them to escape was to have the "Seal of Quality" on for people to buy them. Cucumber Clock got away but Orange Clock wasn't that lucky.
The zombie apple was a personification of the rottenness of the fruits around them.
