Jus.......!!!!!

It's awesome! What you did is make 3D from Flixel!! I mean...that's awesome!!

O_O;;

I..I don't know what to say. I LOVE 3D graphics. I LOVE Pixel Graphics. You did BOTH! In my opinion this is the BEST FLASH GAME on NG. I just can't get over how awesome it is. And I've ALMOST MAXED OUT EVERYTHING! YAY!

Average

It'll keep you busy for a bit if you get into it. Decent SHMUP.

The graphics are outstanding. It's like a smoother version of Starfox (SNES)'s graphics but switched to an overhead view. The enemy designs range from varied to just resizes of their ships. The backgrounds in each world are vibrant and give a decent atomosphere if not for one thing. I'll get to it later.

The gameplay is your basic Shoot Em Up overhead style of gameplay with some added RPG elements. The leveling system is a vital part of this game providing health, movement speed, and better weaponry upgrades upon leveling up, but it doesn't allow much interaction and your choices don't make a signifigant difference. Especially since you can't keep upgrading a stat out of the 3 so you can focus on upgrading others. I understand this balances stats out but you're gonna end up having high stats anyways unless you avoid everything. But SHMUPs aren't about avoiding everything. Also, grinding in this game is practically non-existant which is another problem with leveling. As you grow a higher level, lower level enemies give little to no exp. at all making you rely on the final boss if you wanna get the highest level and stats. But since you already beat everything in that process there's no point in grinding unless you're an overachiever. Now, the SHMUP parts can get repetitive as some enemies, as I said, are just redesigned, beefed up clones of other ones. Such as the 3 ship squadrons who ram you on level 1 are no different other than design and health from the squadrons in the last levels. The bullets are fairly easy to avoid as each enemy has its opening. Even when the screen is filled with over 4 enemies who fire a lot of bullets I never had any trouble avoiding them. And that is a rare occurance. Plus, when it happened I had very high speed stats making it a breeze. So this game has a lot of easy ways to beat it. Of course even with maxed out health some enemies can deal a lot of damage within a few shots if you have poor reflexes. So it sort of balances out.
Average difficulty, repetitive levels, but fun shooting at some points.

The music is only ONE song. This is a problem as it's not very intense or inspiring. As I mentioned earlier about the atmosphere, this song tones down the atmosphere and intensity of the harder levels A LOT due to how calm and repetitive it is. Maybe it'd be fine for the first set of stages but when it does it through the WHOLE GAME, it's annoying. It practically ruined some of the boss intensity for me due to the same tune looping as I destroyed everything in my path.
It's good for a while, but then it's just annoying.

The story is non-existant. I mean it's a SHMUP on Newgrounds for god's sake. I didn't expect much of a story. However, the only motivation I have for this game is it kills time, and exploding stuff with giant lasers with a tiny ship is fun.

Overall, it's an average, sometimes repetitive SHMUP with amazing visuals and an anticlimactic soundtrack, or song, rather.

Graphics: 5/5
Gameplay: 7/10
Music: 2.5/5
Story: 1/5
Conclusion: 6.5/10 (Which rounds up to 7 for the stars)

Now excuse me I'm gonna go play some Gradius.

Okay.

This game quickly became repetitive and a bit boring. I didn't much like the leveling system either, where it forced you to balance your stats evenly. THe same music throughout became annoying. A change in music when fighting a boss would have made this game a little better, and changing the leveling system would make it more interesting.

oh no!
