Reviews for "Save your life 3 THE END"

Quite strange

I was very confused by this game. First, I saw the preview icons for a bunch of other games, some of which were listed as recommondations below the game, but were still clickable. I started at Level 31, which I guess means this is supposed to be the third game. It says I have to type in a number, but then I have to type a letter with no capitals (?!). I typed "Fall Down" on the first because that is all I could figure out, but it did not work. Overall, this had elements too strange to fully enjoy and play.

EventHorizon responds:

maybe you're right, though I meant that the responses of the levels should not be written in capital letters!

wtf is that planet?!

blue planet is Venus. but its thinks the other one..

Guide?

Level 31 (1º Part 1): "beginner" (it's the hardest one).
Level 32 (2º Part 1): "177349", "910780", "57029351"
Level 33 (3º Part 1): "anomaly"
Level 34 (4º Part 1): just click in the 4 where it says level 34. It will become a 5.
Level 35 (5º Part 1): "neptune"
Level 36 (6º Part 1): "nitro"
Level 37 (7º Part 1): "the dark side of the moon"
Level 38 (1º Bonus Level): "fringe"
Level 39 (2º Bonus Level): "louvre"
Level 40 (3º Bonus Level): "fire"
Level 41 (1º Hard Level): "0000ff","ffff00", "ff0000"
Level 42 (2º Hard Level): "elisabeth"
Level 43 (3º Hard Level): "love"
Level 44 (4º Hard Level): "tip"
Level 45 (5º Hard Level): click the end of the road.
Level 46 (6º Hard Level): "algae"
Level 47 (7º Hard Level): "bufflehead"
Level 48 (8º Hard Level): click on the end of the road that turns right. WARNING: DO NOT CLICK THE TUNNEL OR ELSE YOU WILL BE SENT BACK TO THE BEGINNING!
Level 49 (9º Hard Level): "god"
Level 50 (10º Hard Level): click the image repeatedly.
And that is it.

Nice idea, poor execution.

I love riddle games. I love the hard ones even more.
This, however, isn't a riddle game. It's a guessing-and-rewriting game.
Let me explain. Just in the first 3 levels, the player is supposed to write whatever is visible on the screen. Shortly after he has to name a pictured planet. Two levels further - name a CD by cover, a TV show by logo, a location by photo, and... a fire?
You see, the game isn't actually that hard. It requires little to no effort. In one of the hard levels one's supposed to name the creator of the heavens and the earth or click a Wikipedia link. On the other hand, it demands the knowledge of TV shows, music albums and polar stations. That's what we call trivia questions, not riddles.
The levels, that - in my opinion - came closest to my visualisation of a good riddle were the morse code and binary code ones.
Although it's the last installment of the "Save your life" series, if you ever come back to creating riddle games, I suggest spending time on creating the puzzles by yourself, engaging some brainwork, and not choosing real-life instances as guessing objects.
Not to make my words seem empty, I present to you an example of a well-made and incredibly hard riddle game:
http://www.grngecko.com/torment.html .

Another con of your game was actually the programming and the visuals. I bet it'd look much better, had you done all the pictures, backgrounds and HUD by hand, keeping it in a dark style. Same for the music - come on, the T2 theme during the credit roll was too much... Additionaly, some textboxes were corrupted, allowing deletion and user input (hints and kanji).

In the end, despise the low rating and harsh review, I have one more thing to say: I liked it. Keep up the good work.

Guess For Your Life

-Creativity/Originality-
As far as I know, this is not an original idea. There have been many clones of riddle problems before, but still, it doesn't affect it. The thing doesn't seem contrived. It still has quite creative puzzles, albeit very hard ones. Well done on creating impossibly difficult puzzles! Sometimes, though, it just seems like puzzles you could get off the internet put in a different format. I would like more interactive puzzles, something original and new, that's all.

-Soul-
I felt the soul of this game was "this is the hardest quiz you will ever play", which I don't think is a delicate or interesting premise. The music on top of this was very intense, and I was left feeling like I wanted to play a less intense game. It almost felt like the game was a bully of sorts, saying "you can't guess". I don't think people enjoy being dumb. Especially me, who had a very hard time guessing puzzles.

-Entertainment-
I didn't get much entertainment from this piece. It was more the frustration and the desire to finish the game that drove me on. It wasn't a particularly fun game, is what I'm trying to say.

-Professionalism-
Overall, quite professional, in my opinion. The only thing was, that I started off, and I couldn't figure it out! I wondered why, and it said I was on level 32! Talk about a sharp learning curve! Something's wrong with the script, probably. The puzzles seem to be very difficult, however, and I hope you don't mind my criticising your very sharp learning curve. Also, in my opinion, you should probably down the quality of the audio, coz it's making one big file size, for quite a simple game.

-Reviewer's Tilt-
There's a highly negative slant to this review, possibly because - I just don't like the game. I mean, I don't blame you, it's not a bad premise, it's just the high learning curve, the intensity of the music and the bullying nature of the game that put me off. Make a milder game and I'll love it more. Thank you for letting me play, though.
