Reviews for "Dreamscape"

Misleading.

I agree with all others in that this was a technological feat of great skill. However, I felt mislead by you saying it would be a showcase for the various technological styles. It remained pretty much the same throughout (Perhaps 4 different styles). I feel that this hardly covers any bit of the vast selection of animation styles. Really it was like a simulation of being a bird, flying through the landscape and darting through the trees.

So if you made it out to be like a flight over the land, this would certainly have gotten a 10/10. Some might think that the packaging makes little difference, but it actually does.

As I said before, the 3d effects were marvelous. I can see you going on in animation to have it as an actual career. But if you want to try to display animation styles, then (A) have more (B) have more popular/distinct animation styles (The life like effect with the trees is hardly ever done) and (C) perhaps provide more of a distinct boundary between the various types.

So, great job!

Well..

It was good, but I was expecting something a little more.. exciting.

Hmmm...

Pretty cool, a lot... A LOT of effort, but too short...

Mixed Feelings

This movie was... mediocre, at best. While you obviously have a good deal of skill using these programs, I feel as though there was very little creative process in creating this. It felt like a high school girl trying to be artsy by drawing colorful flowers and trees so her friends could tell her how good of an artist she was. Poor work, Mr. Gamecubicle.

I totally agree with the guy down below

This felt... needless, there was a total lack of narrative. Its almost as if this is just a showcase of what you can do rather than a short film, and as such it doesn't really please an intelligent audience much- In other words, this is all fair and well but lets see you put these skills to some use

GAMECUBICLE responds:

The concept indeed came from wanting to incorporate the things I can do into one movie. I wanted to make dreamlike flight through all kinds of animation, so that is what I did. But thanks for your honest opinion.
