Reviews for "Runeseekers"

That was weird

This is definitley the first time I played a game where you spotted the differences and it actually had medals. I was really impressed by the unique design that was shown in the cut scenes. It was kind of disappointing to find that this was not an action game in itself as I had no idea it would be this! Of course, I am generally bad at RPG's anyway. I notice how the first couple of things are so easy to find given that there are so many to find. Then of course, along comes the time when it is impossible to find anything.

A little too difficult

Some of these differences are really hard to distinguish.

Also, I would have preferred it if using a Backup Rune actually displayed which difference I'd missed in the images, so I could learn from my mistakes.

Wuahahaa...

I'm very satisfied now
After all really hard this game... I Solved it !

In second round i complete this game... well i`ve got 2 Medals.
Hhe

Hard (The bad kind)

Where to begin...

There is a difference between "Challenging" and "Hard."

This was Hard.
Much of the so called challenge was dealing with differences that were barely a shade different, and trying to tolerate the inappropriate screen.

Your art, though beautiful, was not the best choice for a spot-the-difference game. The differences in some scenes were so subtle, that -even the most discerning eye could be foiled by something as simple as slightly off computer brightness-.

Not only was finding hard, even looking is hard. The image on the right had the effect of actually being through a scanner. This may have been appropriate to the story, but when one is trying to find a patch of green against green, it is -VERY- problematic to have one of your screens a bit frizzy and occasionally a few shades lighter than the other. Even getting past that, the screens were cropped by the frame and some buttons. In a game where the purpose is finding things in one screen that aren't in another, HAVING DIFFERENT CHUNKS MISSING IN EACH SCREEN IS NOT A GOOD IDEA.

It seems like everything you did to try and stand out from standard spot-the-difference games resulted in you trying things that were left out of other games for a reason.

When you can look directly at a difference, with your eyes up to the screen, and not see it... It isn't a good choice to place it there. Even "Hard" isn't necessarily bad, but the purpose of your game shouldn't be to bore viewers into clicking away.

YOU DIDN"T NEED A STORY. Your intro was unnecessary, the ultra-low-quality story and ugly characters took away from the simplicity of the game and beauty of the landscapes. Blah-blah-blah ugly goat thing working for wizard goes to save dino. You didn't need that...

I eventually got rather tired of straining my eyes and messing with simple computer settings that made the differences all but invisible. From lvl 4 onward, I found what I could find without too much trouble, took a screenshot, pasted it into ms paint, and clicked randomly. I just blanketed things with clicks, clicking retry each time, until I found a new rune. I drew it in, and repeated until all were found.

Your art and music was nice, but this game never needed to be made. If you feel the need to make another one, leave out the ape playtester. Apes are not your target audience.

Eye Strain

A rough one for the genre - some of the differences really are just a couple pixels, and nearly invisible even to the discerning eye.

I completed two levels and stopped due to a pending headache.
