i really liked it. sort of reminded me of my emo game playing days.
This functions really well, especially for a first project. I appreciate that you gave the player some sort of goal other than just "survive". Although the orb collecting is a simple addition, it adds a lot more to this game than exists in it's peers. Furthermore, it adds the depth of challenge as you have to collect 5 orbs without dying to see the boss.

Gotta good thing going here. A little on the short side, though. And it was a little unfulfilling after defeating the boss (what, no fanfare?). Perhaps you should incorporate a storyline, so you could have a reason to make more levels, or a reason to make a sequel, you know? Like I said, you got a good thing going here.
