A breath of fresh air.
Many are complaining about you not spoon feeding them every last bit of information. Don't listen to them. The direction you are going with is brilliant and rarely used because of this very reaction you are getting. People are confused. They aren't exactly sure what to think but that's exactly what's so great about this. It's forcing them to try to come up with the answers for themselves. The fact that they are driven to think about this means it won't be easily forgotten. There are so many meanings that can be drawn from this and that's why it works so well. There is no one single definitive answer.
The only reason this isn't getting a perfect score is at the end of the day, this is a game and games need solid and polished gameplay. The platforming feels unresponsive. Reaction time is slow for the character and the jumping is honestly not very fun to work with. It feels like I can barely move at the beginning of my jump but then if I hold the right arrow key, it's like the character is being thrown slowly across the screen. It doesn't use normal physics and even if these were "fictional physics", the way the character moves isn't working well for this type of game. As far as graphics go, I want to congratulate you on the fact you realized you needed to go with a minimalist approach in order to show greater contrasts when the world itself changes.
Overall, I would love to play more games like this if you are confident in making a sequel or games similar to this design. Keep up the great work.
this game has a message and I have one too.
The part where the narrator asked "why do you hate me" I wouldv'e love to type why. I would say that you're (the narrator) is nothing but a sadistic heartless psycho who is taking plessure in controlling me. Well he's not controlling me anymore. And I find the message is that there will always be people trying to control you and even it they say they "love you" it's not true, they would see you as a puppet, and you should try and be brave and walk away. because you are a smart and beautiful person who can free yourself from the grasp of the narrator or any person who is controlling you.
