Hack'n'Slash just got better.
If the awesome effort put into the drawing of each gnome in this game, bad guys, beasties and especially Larry, does NOT catch your eye, then it would have to be the vast amount of weapons available.
True, most do similar amounts of damage, but the artwork is cool, not to mention that there are special weapons to keep your eyes PEELED for.
Personally, I can't get enough of the poison effect scythe (The one handed one) after getting it off a mini boss I used it for several levels, until I threw it at the end of one level and lost it...But here's the thing, throwing your weapon is tempting because it just looks so epic.
The animations for Larry make him one absolutely kick ass gnome; especially when you make him do a dashing jump attack.
The difficulty rises with each level, and though it seems easy at first, there are bosses and mobs you will encounter later on which will whomp your ass unless you put some strategy into it, so you see, its not such a simple hack'n'slash either.
Hint: Pile up weapons at your feet to throw at mobs of lesser bad guys, because most of them will die instantly from a thrown weapon attack, so you can just stand and chuck/pick up and chuck again.
Over all, an awesome game, good variety of weapons to choose from, lots of different bad guys to beat the snot out of and lots of levels.
Bloody awesome.
