Reviews for "Age of War 2"

WOW! That Sucked!..

First I thought this game can be really awesome as the first one and even better!..
When I first played this one I thought that the design and everything is pretty awesome!..
But suddenly the computer(enemy) used the specials! I thought it's really unfair since I killed more of its army than he killed from mine!.. But then after it stopped I kept playing that but after a very short time he evolved!..
I haven't understood HOW THE HELL DID THE COMPUTER EVOLVED SO FAST AND I DIDN'T!.. But still..I kept playing!.. Now, the computer has a metal army!.. While I'm still in the Prehistoric army and have about 4000 EXP!! I CANNOT EVOLVE AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY AND HOW!!!
This part pretty sucked relatively the first part!..
It's really not fair to the player that the computer gets EXP much faster the he does!..
You really should work on that because it's almost impossible to enjoy it!.. I'm still giving it 3 stars since I enjoied it at the begining!

"Far too easy"

I am a major fan of the original Age of War, it was a well done game with only a few turret-related balance issues.

This however, while expanding on the last is just -far- to easy!

You can win in the first age on Easy and a little before the last age on Impossible just by sticking with and upgrading support Units. It takes the enjoyment out of the game.

Turrets are useless. They are to expensive and don't do well at defending your base. Again, went through all 4 difficulties without even using them.

Specials are useless sept in the last age-- If you even need to make it that far. The huge XP costs to use a special doesn't make them worth while, they should be a re-chargeable ability like last time.

Support units have insane range, its rediculous. You can line up an armor unit and set several long-range support units behind it and just rape your enemy before it can even react, two waves is usually enough. I had to find myself holding back constantly just so I could even reach the final age.

Thats another thing, you can Evolve WAY to quickly, XP comes in so fast, I wasn't in some ages for more than a minute.

So,

Turrets need reduce pricing
Specials need to work the same as in the old game
Upgrade System needs 'Tweaking'
The Range on certain units needs altering for serious balance
To evolution needs to cost much more XP so the game takes a bit longer

Insane Difficulty needs tweaking, it should be almost unwinnable but it was childs play.

A good effort, but a lousy sequal for a great game.

Loved the first one, but ... EPIC FAIL!!!!!

I anxiously waited 2 years for this? You've got to be kidding me.

First, I like the units and I like the upgrades.

What I do NOT like is using XP for the special. Also, anything above Easy level and the AI uses special attack FAAAARRR too often (like about 10 seconds into first stage?!?!?) AND upgrades the same time I do even though I never used my special and all I am doing is training units (no defenses). Please tell me how the hell that is possible. Please?!?!? No idea? Yeah, crappy programming ... thought so.

Also in the crappy programming realm, whatever you do, don't let your game lag, or else units will run right through each other. Had Armor unit followed by 2 Support units out in the field and engaged in battle. The game lagged for a second, and all of a sudden, one of my Support guys was in FRONT of the Armor unit and he was getting wailed on. And this hasn't happened just once, no it has to happen many times for me to give Age of War a bad review. If it weren't for the first game, I would just BLAM this piece of crap and move on. But given how much I loved the first one, I will just give this a bad review and hope you fix it.

BTW, did you ever pay attention in History class? The Roman Empire peaked long AFTER the Egyptian Kingdom had fallen into obscurity. Good job on that one.

..eehh..

Found it a bit too easy..i'm on Hard difficulty and there's nothing hard ABOUT it..
But the whole idea of the opponent being able to use the special ability is a nice touch.

enemy has 6x money gain, wtf
