God, I'm glad I beat it.

What's most disappointing is that, despite the graphical improvements to the previous entry, it's really the same game. Just play until the highest technology, build your turrets to the max, let them make you money for the most part, maybe throwing a medium level sentry out, then when you have enough for 3 or so of the ultimate units, throw them out there and win.

Yes, there are other ways to beat the game, but that's the most immediately apparent way, and given the way the units are set up, why bother with another way?

The addition of leveling up the damage and armor of the units may be even more damaging. It's an artificial way to make the game seem 'longer' when it's actually just bloated. It's the exact thing the-exp was commenting on when he made 'Upgrade Complete!' and also the same basic point jmtb02 was making with 'Achievement Unlocked!'. It doesn't add anything to the game -- not it's Mechanics, Story, nothing.

I voted it a 3, but I really should have given it a 2. (That would correspond to a 4 on a 10-point system, before anyone asks.)

Nice sequal

It doesn't seem quite as....charming as the first one did. Overall it's very solid but I think a nice explosion and credits or something at the end would help a lot. It just ends in seconds. It makes me feel like I just wasted my time.

Great-ish!

The game isn't broken, it just has some... hiccups.
The computers infinite amount of money and XP got rather annoying with their almost immediate use of the special attack as well as their never ending hordes backed by the best turrets money can buy. I hate to mention that as I don't know of a fix but there it is.
The turrets have gone from being far too powerful to being a complete waste of money having range less then some enemies and costing a small fortune for each. If you had some mix between having far too expensive but very powerful and cheep weak turrets this would work better.
Nice to have more ages to evolve to but it seems annoying that the computer evolves the exact same way. I know this may be a pain to program and would make the game huge but I personally would like to see different ways to evolve like Magic or Technology paths, human and alien, and even good and evil paths. Each path could have its own strengths and weaknesses so the game could always be changing.
I like that there is now a reason to not spam the special when I'm in trouble but all of them seem exactly the same. It would be fun to have them all be different such as the Egyptian special is a sandstorm that blows back the enemy, Spartans send out a special Phalanx unit that's extra powerful, heck even something weird like the modern army special can be calling a armistice in which both sides gain gold though peace time trade. Just mix it up a bit.
Oh, and I do LOVE that song and do listen to it in loop all the time but having a selection of songs to listen to would be nice.
