Reviews for "Sonic tournament ep 2"

cool

Read the title :D

meh

nice kirby reffrence

good

very funny!

Has potential, needs work though

1* unneccessary length of attacks (i.e. Chaos Eruption, after 10sec. we get the point)
2. First battle is a touch too hard (and no, i didnt get past it)
3. Pixel loops (what shadow and sonic do while standing still) too fast

However I could tell that you put alot of creativity into this, but it simply didnt live up to its possible potential for me.

nicogear responds:

1.Yeah, i think i overdid them too much...
2.It is meant to be hard, for those who look for a strong and hard fight, but you can skip it so it should be no problem...(also, i just halved it's total hp)
3.I'll fix that for the next episode...

Pretty good.

Hi.

Well, this is a decent flash, everything seems to be in order. I like that. The motion is very fluid and the sound and action is well done.

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics were okay, they weren't udder crap. They seemed to be fairly clean with this submission being a sprite animation/game. I like how you were able to make certain graphics for the attacks between Shadow and the Heavy Lobster. What I would have liked to see though, is some movement with the Heavy Lobster before it gets attacked. It just stands there. It could have been bouncing slightly.

Sound: 7:10
The sound was also good. I liked the sounds made with the attacks, and I also liked the background music (even if you did rip it from Kirby). What I would have liked to hear is more of a variety of sounds. Each time I do the same attack, the exact sound occurs. What would be better is if there was a slight alteration to show if the attack was more powerful or slightly weaker. The music also gets kind of repetitive. The battle music keeps looping and it makes game play seem to be slow. However, the sound was timed right (between attacks and movements) and the music did add more of an intense appeal to the battle. So for that I give you bonus points.

Game-play: 7.5/10
I did find the actual game sequence. I liked how I was able to choose different attacks and special abilities, that added some "flavor" to the game. What I didn't like was that it seemed kind of hard to beat the Heavy Lobster. That is probably just me though, so I didn't deduct any points there. What I did take points away from though is the fact that there wasn't much life to the characters. I would have liked to seen and heard some phrases of the character during the battle. I would have also liked to have seen the Heavy Lobster move a little or do something when it gets attacked.

Overall score: 10/10
I gave you a 10/10 because I found this submission decent and I sensed that some work and time was actually spent on this as opposed to some other things out there. The game play was pretty fun and I enjoyed trying to kill that Heavy Lobster. Good job. And with that, I hope to see you in some of your later works and hopefully you will have taken my opinions of improvement into consideration. Keep up the good work!
