My Interpretation
the animation and sounds were great but the story was way more interesting.
To me, it was like a message saying that each person has a goal he wants to attain. He works extremely hard for it when the opportunity comes. In the end, he fails miserably only to find out that there is greater and much more fitting destiny that awaits him which yields greater rewards. Lesson - if its not meant to be, it only means there is a better ending waiting for you if you can strive for it.
Thats my interpretation at least.
