Was that... supposed to be funny?
I remember seeing ep 1 on escapist months back and I also remember me not even smirking.
I don't know what it is, but these "jokes" are just horrible. Where was I supposed to laugh? When the ranger asks for a raise? When the same man makes a regard on 2 rules in 2 days and wondering what it'll be like in a year? The cat being resurrected and dieing again? I'm not sure. I don't know, because it's just not funny.
And it doesn't help one bit that the jokes are repeated over and over and oooveeer. It's either subtle repetition like "'A second rule on day two?' 'Yeah' 'But on day 2' 'Yes, it's a second rule' 'Yes but on day two?'" or just outright "Cat's alive-oh no it's dead-It's alive again-oh it's dead."
Honestly, the jokes weren't funny the first time. Saying it again wont fix that. I noticed the same pattern in episode 1 too. "'I'm here for the safer blade' 'Here.' 'That's not the safer blade' 'Oh. Here's the real one' 'That's not it either.'"
What kind of audience is this supposed to be aimed at? Isn't such outright repetition quite literally a method from shows aimed at kids that can barely say their names yet?
Also, having a Christopher Walken imitator doesn't automatically equal funny. Yeah yeah... It's a knight called Walken and he's doing your usual Christopher Walken style random mumbling haaaa haaa...
Even though the person doing the imitation was not bad at what he did it seems you didn't do anything with his character. He just shows up and mumbles randomly. The scene's practically completely pointless.
Besides the lack of comedy in this comedy, the drawings and animation were... decent, and for that I'll give you two stars, considering that this seems to be a weekly series.
