Enjoyed

I'll give it a ten, I really had fun with it. My only gripe is that the black blocks follow your mouse as opposed to being stationary, but I suppose that if they were static that the challenge wouldn't be presented in such a polished way. I liked the fluid movement of everything, too.

HybridMind responds:

Having the blocks follow the player was sort of the main game mechanic idea. It makes the player be their own enemy or the game's AI in a sense. I added the blocks moving and spinning to make it be more interesting and to ramp up the difficulty. Thanks for playing and leaving your thoughts!

nice game!

wow this game is challenging!

i think u should make different controlls.

but its realy good with these conrolls too!! LOL ! :D

HybridMind responds:

I'm glad you found it challenging! I was focusing on making a mouse skills game so I guess I didn't think of key controls...

Very well made, and Original

This game is amazing. The sheer quality of everything just speaks for itself. It runs very well even on my not so good computer. The concept isn't the most original, the basic avoid and get, but the way that it is executed really speaks for itself. The only real problem with it is that once you get the hang of it, it loses its sense of novelty. There really isn't much more to the game besides more black blocks and the patterns that they take. If you are going to make a sequel to this, which I highly advise, try and add more depth to the game and you'll get a 10 from me.

HybridMind responds:

I'm glad you liked the polish I put into this game. I understand what you are saying about the novelty aspect but I also think there is a still a fun game that remains once that has worn off. I think it depends on the player and what they are trying to get out of the experience in general. Thanks for taking the time to review and play my game.

Sup

Thanks for playing! I prefer Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch myself...

Vary nicely done...

This was very well done. It's definitely original. I mean I have played games like this where the goal is to dodge "enemy" blocks or dots while collecting other dots and blocks that give you points. I think the main thing that you did that made this stand out is the way you designed it. I really liked the way in which the difficulty gradually got tougher as the game went on and yet it still toned down when I began to get hit (but not so much that it made the game too easy). Here's my break down of the game...

Game play-
The game play was simple and to the point, but it still allowed for a fun experience. The controls were easy and the scoring system was simple and challenging (but not so challenging as to frustrate). The game was very easy to get into. It is a simple game, but not so simple that it is boring.

Sound-
The music fit the game well. The title music was nice and... strangely relaxing. The actual game play music was simple and upbeat. Simple music for a simple game. Good choice. I also liked the sound effects, especially the one when the game first begins. Very well done.

Replayability-
This isn't a game that I see myself playing frequently but I'll probably come back again to play it. The desire to beat the previous score and go longer than the last play through will probably bring many people back to play again.

Altogether, I rate this a five. It's not a game that I usually play, but as a skill game it is very well done. It feels like you put a lot of time and thought in to it. The result... A very well done skill game! Good Job!

HybridMind responds:

I appreciate your well thought out and detailed review of my game. I'm glad you enjoyed the music since I managed to have time to write that myself to fit the game near the end of the project. Thanks!
