Reviews for "Deep Sea Diver"

Nice job

Ok, I have to admit very nice job. The upgrade system did work and you could see some improvements each time you upgraded something. I agree with a lot of what Cumulus Strife said, you do need to add to the game to keep people in once they are drawn in. To be honest I did get bored with it pretty quickly.

Some very good points were the smooth game play, and the cool grapics. It was a well thought out game and it played very well.

Here are a few things you can do to help it some.
1) Personal customization system. The ability to change your sub to fit you helped. You can do things like give Sub class system. Each class has a strong point and makes the player change their stratigy to match the sub they have.
2) Storyline: Defently something to help keep the player in here. Why am I after these relics and are there any body else aftre them as well.
3) Combat: This is a iffy question as the game is very good as is and there is no combat. To add it would mean more opening for classes and upgrades but possibly harder to code.
4) Abilties: maybe allow the player to gain certain abilites to allow them to do differnt things. These abilities can be dependent on class as well.
5) Puzzles: Let there be something in most stages that tell us we need to come back with a certain ability/relic/upgrade to fully complete the level.

Thoes are just a few ideas to help you along. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing what else you can make. :D

Enjoyable

It was an enjoyable little game with nice graphics.

bland but midly entertaining

The score system is useless, uprgrades should be given by place completed and not by grinding .

My final upgrade stats were
-lights 2
-engine/speed 2
-oxygen 3
-hull 3

You can easily beat the game with these stats becuase you can get an artifact and you don't have to resurface for it to count .

very good

only prob is the oxygen restore to slow when you have large tank, everything else is ok :)

Well...it's just upgrades.

As a game... this just isn't very interesting. It's sort of the equivalent of level grinding in an RPG in that it isn't really all that fun, but you do it anyway to get to the fun part. Except this doesn't really have much of a goal. It's just gather stuff so you can buy things to help you gather more stuff... that's it. The scoring doesn't really seem neccesary, as it's really little more than an indication of how long you've been playing. If it had a little more substance, like little characters you can find that tell you things, or a basic storyline, or enemies (and therefore weapons with which to kill them), or usable items (like item radar, or a crane, or a... sea shovel?), or randomly constructed levels, this would be a much more enjoyable experience.

Other suggestions:

~ Make the levels unlockable. Makes the player feel like they're accomplishing something every time they open a new one up.
~ Allow ship shape/color customization
~ Switches and gates would make the game more engaging
~ More of an "emergency mode" when air is low would be neat, possibly having the character attempt to abandon ship upwards to reach air

It is very pretty though. Props for the graphics.
