Reviews for "Solar City"

You can animate but,

It seems you can't act, and have to give into clichés when attempting to write.

Amaysing!

Great story and great animation! I think this has potential for a series.

7/10

This movie had a lot of potential to it, I just didn't see you go anywhere with it useful. Although you had my attention, I felt like you failed to do anything with it.

The artwork in this movie was actually very nice, other parts and panoramas where very sloppily done with only a few colors and no shading. I think if you spent a little more time on some of your bigger scenes that show the immensity of "Solar City", then it would grab the viewers attention more.

The music in this really did catch my attention. I must say to ParagonX9 very nice Techno Remix. You also did a perfect job of matching your animation to music when you selected that song, Link3Kokiri. They both go amazing together. As far as the voice acting goes on whomever' behalf, I was too impressed. You did say that you weren't that skilled at voice acting so this wasn't really a big deal, I just would've liked a better voice to match the character.

The animation was brilliant though, but sometimes, like the artwork had some rough spots which could've been improved on. (The "Skeeters" head turning, some of the civilians, etc). Some parts that stood out to me were mostly scenes with Miles, such as his head band flowing in the wind and him jumping when he puts the headphones on. I was impressed enough with the animation enough to keep me watching until the end. I really don't want to talk anymore about animation because you're still experimenting with Flash and had to do this for a school project, so it was probably rushed a great deal.

I really would've enjoyed seeing you improve on the story-line a little bit. Again, I know that this was a project and some things were probably skipped over and you didn't have much time to look for little things that the viewer can pick up on. The story does mean everything, though. At the very beginning you'd think it's about the Skeeters, not about the helpful robots. Why is he attacking the robots who guard people? All you say in the description is that "He's stopping a group of civilians that are being kidnapped to be turned into mechanical robots for devious schemes..." Next time try to inject more into the story-line.

Overall this movie was pretty good, with a few apparent flaws. Don't sweat it though because you did make this for a school project and believe me, I know what it's like. Flaws are bound to happen when you're just focused on getting something complete. Don't worry about the "stars" because they really don't even make a difference, if I had a choice I wouldn't even use them. I really do want to see more of your work when you have more time, you've impressed me.

Wow

The awesomeness chilled me to the bones.

good beginning, too bad thaty's all there was

-I won't trash you for the voice acting (it really wasn't THAT horrible), but I will trash you for the storyline. Or lack of it. Had I not read your review, i would not have known his name or what those headphones were, since Miles never addresses it. 80% of the movie was Miles giving background information. The actual present chain of events was about 30 seconds long, and didn't even show us the "volunteers" escaping. Translation: You spent most of the movie preparing us for a story that never happened. NIce idea but all in all, i'm dissapointed
