Reviews for "Talesworth Adventure Ep.1"

Problem...

I don't know what is the problem, but it just shows a black screen after loading, but as no one seems to be having the same problem I'll just check my flash version or something and try again later... but it look like it's nice so I'll just give it a 9...

Clever

For those stuck on the gem in the second to last level: Heed the advice given by the thief.

Original

At first, this game didn't seem to have that much potential.
The only thing that impressed me was the pixels.
And then...my Questy ran into a bag of gold...
From there, it just got more and more difficult, yep, I'm looking at the clock (it's been two hours) and time just flew by.
Its not just about changing direction, its about slaying, its about treasure hunting (Hooray for all you whip-cracking Indiana fans who chase Chaos Emeralds), its about OGRES (red and green, double-whammy), it's about levers, giant rolling boulders, pit traps, arrow traps, your only friend, who happens to be a thief, but most of all...It is about a guy...a guy who loves dungeons to the point that he will obsessively run from one blatantly obvious hazard to another, caring nothing about his own self-preservation, looking only for the glitter and promise of hard, solid gold!
I can see how this game represents some online mmo's such as World of Warcraft.
Being an ex-player, I know what it's like, it gets a LOT like this, at least in metaphor.
Nothing else matters, not even the safety of your friends, just getting that gold, along with your shiny red or green axe. Never mind the time wasted, never mind the preparation required.
The more I play this game, the more I get ideas for a parody of it.
It doesn't stop there.
You can laugh at the pixels all you like, but the puzzles will lure you in like a venus fly trap, so sweet...like the scent of victory that can only come from easily acquired bounty and suddenly this thing closes its jaws on you with a near-impossible level to figure out.
Well done on the difficulty, it rises gradually enough.
I found only one glitch: in Bonus Room 1, my Questy activated the arrow trap and the bolt didn't hurt him, it passed right through and killed the ogre, but my faithful jewel-humping friend was unscathed. I'm not complaining, it allowed me to finish that level whilst having a good laugh, however, I'm kind of concerned with how I would have coped had that lucky incident NOT occured.
Nevertheless, however impossible the rooms look, always, try alternatives, never dismiss any theory or logic, if something doesn't work, reverse your strategy and you'll often find yourself on the way to fame and...well maybe not fame, but riches, yes. Many riches.
For all those out there who were attracted by the name because it looked like a hack'n'slash and thus were expecting something to that effect, yet still gave this game a poor review, first of all, fuck you all.
Some of the best games I've ever played were simple, yet wicked hard. If you want some quality graphics, action-style killing or some other pointless online mmo, then why not get a ps3 or sell your soul to Blizzard?
This game is made to stimulate your way of looking at things and adding a challenge.
I'd suggest that you work on a sequel, though I don't see how that's possible for two reasons: It's already near impossible to beat, and introducing more characters to control in one level will just make it ridiculously complex to make, and insane to play.
This game deserves a parody.

Nice

Pretty good. Refreshing change of pace.

super fun game that got really tough at points...
My only complaint is:
a) even if sped up, questy runs too slowly
b)medals dont seem to be working.

great job, though! :)
