Reviews for "Jade Wolf 2"

it's alright

very good

it was ok

I liked the story and the art(could be better though), but i didn't like how the wolf jumped or ran it was hard to control. A nice game yet...also flawed.

Fun but flawed

Overall I enjoyed the game enough so to complete it 100% so having medals would have been nice for bragging right :D
I liked the art style but the controls at times felt very loose. The platforming sections were unresponsive and at the very final stage became very frustrating controlling the black wolf not being able to fly.
Other than that, very enjoyable!

nice

somewhat reminds me of fancy pants adventures

A Unique Blend of Concepts, Yet Flawed

I liked the idea of the game, combining the fun physics of Fancy Pants and Sonic with the animal nature of William & Sly, and that idea would have made a great blend of games. However, a few flaws in the gameplay and navigation make the game unnecessarily difficult, and some features of the game don't hold a candle to the originals.

First off, the platforming feels a little loose. I know that i'm an animal who probably doesn't know how to, but that fact that you can't grab onto a ledge you just missed seems a little strict. Also, sometimes it's a little hard to tell the difference between what's a platform and what's just part of the scenery, most notably in the trees. On the topic of backgrounds, most of them were nice and fit, but some you can easily tell are just photos. You also seem to slide too much when landing from a jump, but I guess that's what the flight is for.

Second, the navigation around the worlds can get confusing. Again, I know they're animals, but could they be civilized enough to draw a map? I would also prefer the option to stay in a dream to collect more items after I clear it, then exit, not just exit after I get to the final item. I know that you can warp to the start of the open world, but that still means you'll need to find the dream gates again if you want to collect more items.

Third, you should take more advantage of the features of the games you're parodying. The curves in Fancy Pants were all unique and provided a new platforming challenge, but here they just seem to be put in now and again. However, I do need to compliment you on the music and sound! The music in the world was nice and fit the calm setting, and also captured th mood of the dreams.

Overall, this was a decent game, with a fun twist on other games coupled with nice background music, but fixing the flaws you have in the gameplay and platforming would make this a near perfect blend of genres.

THanks, I'll think about it for a possible sequel - I think I may have done the loops better in the first one... Also, the first one had a map. I was trying to encourage exploration - after all, you're not much of an explorer if you're following a map.

Thanks for the kind words - and I'd like to think its more of a respectful homage to Fancy Pants etc. than a parody. As I LOVE that game.
