Reviews for "Rock 'n' Risk"

Amazing!

Congratulations! One of the best games I have ever played. Really. But there are some major bugs which really took a toll on your score. (don't worry, you got 5 anyway ;D)

First off, when I played at full risk, I would sometimes dash through platforms if the speed was too high (in other words, at speed 2.4 with a 20+ combo, mostly in the final) and end up losing my combo if the platform under it wasn't the same colour.

Also, sometimes there only appears to be one colour on-screen but there are actually two and you tackle the next and lose. I know you put the highlights in because of this but it is still not enough.
I suggest that you separate each of the on-screen colours with a thin black line and attempt to leave more space between the colours on the screen (and also change the highlights for the yellow and green platforms, they're almost invisible. Maybe you should darken the platform itself.)

Speaking of space between the colours, like it's been said before, sometimes the platforms are waaay too close. Also something that should be fixed.

Another bug I noticed is that sometimes the highlights do not correspond to the screen colours. I once stepped on a highlighted purple while looking at a blue screen and my combo continued, and I bet that it might've happened some other times too because there were other few times I was certain I was going to lose my combo and didn't. And sometimes both the screen colour and highlight match and I lose the combo.

There is also something else, but this might just be paranoia. I think that sometimes the screen randomly changes colours. And I don't mean when I deposit the pot, I mean mid-game.

Finally, there is a question I would like to ask. When you reach 60+ combos, what do you do to reset the screen? Is it supposed to go blank so we have to guide ourselves by the highlights for an added challenge or is it my browser's fault? Also, I try to continue comboing when I get to that point, but the blue platforms are always the ones highlighted and when I step on them the combo breaks.

Some other suggestions:
-Add an off-screen line so you know when the platforms appear and disappear;
-Add a little more space above so we have more room to speeddash and compensate for gravity;
-Add secret levels and bonuses;
-Maybe upgrades and items wouldn't be so bad. I mean, you earn CP (whatever it is) and you don't do anything with it, you just unlock stuff.

That's all, I hope you will take the time to read this review and that it didn't bore you too much. Thank you for making such an epic game and here's hoping for a sequel.

In case you're wondering, I use the latest version of Firefox and Windows XP.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Man, you really played every inch of the game :) I will keep your suggestions in mind.

Superb!

Great, very challenging game! Every time I play, I have to force myself to not get angry! lol The difficulty is good, overall, but sometimes the platforms are just too close together, and the response time on some slower computers, such as mine, make it hard to avoid the wrong colors, which doesn't help the anger issues any. Hehe. But overall, great work on a truly wonderful and addictive game! :) Keep 'em coming!

Thanks! I will keep your suggestions in mind.

Unique game, great control, awesome music!

Really great, original game full of tension, excitement and fun ... It's to hard to resist risk. But it's hard not to be angry.
I can not wait for sequel!

PS: Sorry for my English, I do not know her very well

SiJaf responds:

Thanks :) Yeah... not getting angry is the ultimate challenge :P If you can master it, you will be one heck of a cool guy :P

Love It!!!

The game is well paced, challenges do get harder and you do end up basically gambling the risk. It's very addicting and the music is awsome although you may want to add more. Plus I like the announcer sort cheering you on, makes you feel special

SiJaf responds:

Thanks!

Love It

Glad to see your still active over the years, lots of the famous animators stop animating all the time. Awesome game to, simple and fun :D

SiJaf responds:

Ehm... thanks? :) I will let Miccool know :P
