a great new style of play

i admit at first glance, i thought it was going to suck, but i was way wrong. this game was surprisingly easy to adjust to, and the overall game-play was great. use of the mouse instead of the keyboard was a brilliant idea.

the actual game style was great too, not overly complicated, but not too simple either. the randomness does need a little work, as Meister mentioned, but it wasn't a very big problem for me.

the music choice was amazing, both during menus, and during game-play.

overall 10/10 and 5/5.

SiJaf responds:

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Yes, this game takes a bit time to get into unlike those box2d games, but I think it pays of at the end, if you take your time (and we talk about minutes, not hours :D)

Favorite :3

First I thought that the mouse control sucks but after playing a while I got used to it. The music is perfect for this game and doesn't get boring.
The only bad thing about the gameplay is the totally randomness of the platforms.
I just needed 4 yellows at the beginning and in the first 20 secs there weren't any of them. Some other times the first three needed colors are directly on the screen.
So maybe you should increase the rate of the needed color.
Anyway 10 / 10 :D

I will try to improve the platform generator!

A thrilling game.

The game is exciting and dynamic and I actually liked the mouse controls. It is pretty smooth, when precision is needed, and explosive, when speed counts the most. I doubt you could achieve that effect with arrow buttons. True, the controls take a while to get used to, but it pays off in the end.

As for the improvements you could make in a sequel:
1. The score and combo indicators are a bit inconvenient. The player doesn't generally want to search for his game stats while dodging platforms. The stats have to SHOW themselves ALWAYS. Maybe it would be a good idea to make them bigger, colour them brightly or add some flashing animation.
2. The music is great, but there definitely needs to be more different tracks. It would add the gameshow feel. Also, the voiceacting is quite good, but again - more cues to the announcer!

SiJaf responds:

Yeah, you are right. The bars are still a bit hidden. I will also think how to keep a small filesize and add more tracks in the next one.

the should make a game like this for da XBOX LIVE!
