Reviews for "REDDER"

Pretty good

Not bad. I enjoyed the parts that required timing and precision, also having to venture to opposite parts of the map to get one thing done, but having to go different ways each time was quite interesting and prevented annoyance from backtracking. Kind of reminds me of one of the older metroid games.

There were a few glitches, but the game overall was a good while of entertainment. I've yet to puzzle my way to all the gems. Good work. =)

Irishmesiah: I could say the same to you.

Mustang65: If you don't like it, don't play it. And try not being an asshole while your at it.

Well crafted game

This game had a gripping sense of atmosphere, between the music, the beginning cutscene, and the incredible sense of aloneness as you traversed the extensive map.

Great level design and an interesting take on a metroid game mechanic-- not having weapons made this pure platformer seem less like a blastathon, as some games have regrettably designated as their goal, and more of an enormous puzzle.

Again, I liked the music-- although it was repetitive and simple, it was certainly in keeping with the theme of the game; both the visuals and the music were simple, and they also both conveyed a sense of isolation. Well done!

Keep up the good work

Addicting, but there seems to be a bug

"Oh, this game is good, but there should be a map somewhere..." (finds the M button after collecting about half of the gems) "...oh, ok... this should be documented somewhere, a tutorial or instructions or something..." (reads the game description) "...ok, so I'm just stupid".

This game deserves a photo on the wikipedia article for "Awesomeness", but there's an annoying bug (?) already described by Omrikon: tiles begin changing when you collect some gems, and end up flickering in a very annoying way when you have 24 (this distracts you and makes some precision movements specially complicated). When you collect the 27th gem, the game suddenly becomes a COMPLETE PIECE OF CRAP that looks like ol' QBasic Nibbles (but the movements are still smooth and the jumping sound is neat). The same goes for the music: it distorts, like if it were being played on a cassette tape with not much battery, and sometimes a buzz is heard instead. (I've never seen a flash doing that, so maybe this effect was intended for some reason I don't understand).
Maybe this is because the 27 gems switching colors on the map/menu takes a lot of graphics resources that are grabbed from the rest of the game, even if they aren't rendered while the map is hidden.

My review is 9 because of this bug, it would be 12 or so if it were fixed and Newgrounds allowed it. On the other hand, maybe it's my fault for not having much memory, or something like that.

great game

Its very cool because of the endless maps to explore and the old fashion graphics are very cool!

Excellent Exploration Game

I found this game quite amusing, though the glitched up graphics kind of make it hard to determine what can be stood upon and what cannot. Still, I'm enjoying this game, and I hope to complete it.
