Reviews for "LARRY: Doug-Out"

Great.. but a some problems

Overall i liked the game and it was a good concept, it was pretty fun, but i listed some problems below.

1. The arrow moves to fast on the bar
2. Make dug take longer to become powerful
3. I got to the point where slightly off the bottom gives me $0
4. Make Mc sweeny run when doug enters the building.
5. Give us a warning of dug.. Maybe have him as a dark figure near the buildings in the background.
6. Maybe make it so you can hire someone help aid you to defend your ale. (-$? dollars a day).
7. More upgrades, maybe a larger hammer, then a pitchfork and then a rifle?
8. Make it so we can drop the ale if we accidently pick it up.

Great Game...But...

Its a good game and all, but as said before, Doug gets too strong too quick and too fast, sure the weapon system was OK, but he is just three hits one game and all the sudden BAM! I'm Superman! I'm a drunk fat man who can stand 7 beatings by a piece of wood and can teleport from barrel to barrel at the speed of light!

Not Only that, but as mikeakaspike said, the "Ale Meter" being ridiculously fast and the game becoming un-playable. Is there even an ending? I'd suggest an actual story line to where you either kill Doug or buy him a carriage ticket to go bother someone else like the Normans dad or something, Summary here: Add an Ending!

And to the people who say they have glitches:
Try Firefox, its the better choice for internet anyway...

It was fun for the first 5 stages...

It is fun at the beginning, until Doug joins the Weapon-X program and becomes the ultimate human being. Seriously, how many hits do you need to take out one person ? I spent 90% of the time trying to aim at him, because he is moving ridiculously fast. Unless you click right on Doug's head, you don't get to hit him.

Briefly, it could have been much better, so 5/10

Game had a lot of promise

Production value on art and voice acting were spot on. No complaint there, but the rest of the game.... far from good. The concept was sound, but the execution fell like a drunk and it couldn't get back up from there.

Now, I didn't find the game too difficult. In fact, it was way too easy. I just stopped playing because, after maxing everything out, and making a couple million points, I just got bored with all the repetition involved. The mistake people make, who think it's hard, is that they try to have multiple barrels in the storage for Doug to decimate, when you only need one or two. Maxing out beer quality, and filling slightly below the mark, can make you go almost forever in the game.

Like a lot of people, I had a problem with Doug becoming too thirsty and too pain absorbing too quickly. Having to hit him a dozen times, while fun at first, just seemed you weren't getting anywhere with him fast. It didn't help any that your weapon seemed ineffective against him, no matter how upgraded it was. And his ability to drink an entire barrel of beer in half a second, and being powerless to do a thing about it, just made you question the point of defending aginst him if he could be there and be gone before you got there.

If you end up making a sequel to this be sure to offer more items and upgrades in it. This one felt it had the bare minimum. Offer increased beer efficiency, slowing the beer filling meter, or offering arcades and traps against Doug, stuff that could add more to the game in terms of fun and longevity.

Anyways, it's not a bad game, it just needs several improvements in the game-play.

it deserves a ten.

to much lag.
