Reviews for "Sonic the LOLhog"

Nicely done

This was one great Sonic parody,i loved the fact that it was all hand drawn in all the skits and it was long as hell too plus i got a lot of laughs from this, overall you did a fantastic job on this parody. =)

Great! But LONG LIKE A 6 FT WEINER

The jokes were lol funny and the animation wasn't too bad, but some of the shorts were more like a pair of XL pants. I mean if you want to make a collage of funny clips, save the long stuff for last instead of dead smack in the middle, and make sure they're not too long either.

voice acting needs more work.

when u guys scream, that screech noise comes, u gotta avoid that.
ppl have short attention spans now, u gotta avoid dragging somthing on for a long time.
overall it was good, got some nice and pretty decent jokes, put u could use a little more work on it.

Not bad, but needs work.

the graphics were nice, but the animation isn't quite as fast as I had hoped. Most of the jokes were decent enough, but they weren't delivered well in most cases. your main problem was taking too long in getting to the punchline or dragging the punchline on for too long. the first skit (Not the title screen) is a great example of this. It's best to just cut it after maybe Sonic's first line after hitting the TV. The acid water is another good example. In this particular one, at least for me, it's very easy to see what's going to happen. If you feel the punchline might be obvious, that doesn't necessarily make it bad, but it does mean you don't really need to set it up too much. Sonic takes way too long to push Tails in when I, as the viewer, already know it's going to happen, and the longer I need to wait to see it, the less funnier it is. In general, you should always end each skit just after the last joke of it, otherwise you'll lose the viewer's interest. Once that happens, you'll be hard pressed to get it back, so don't let skits run longer than they absolutely need to. Cut out whatever is unnecessary and you might be surprised at the wonders it can do. Easier said than done, I know, but if you're going to take the time to make these videos, you should go the extra mile, right? A good example of one being done right was the airplane one where Sonic was holding on form dear life. It was great the first 2 times it happened because it was so fast, yet I was able to fully understand what was going on. Again though, it seemed you were practically begging the viewer to laugh after that, which isn't good. If you are unable to avoid long times required to set up jokes, such as the one where the two Robotnik's are conversing with the employees, you need something in the background then to keep interest. the dialogue should still be audible of course, but something simple, such as the "gay" Robotnik doing stupid stuff, whatever you can imagine.

Another problem I had was that when punchlines were delivered, they weren't done well. The main problem here was they weren't "over the top". The feeling I get is that this is supposed to be parodical and humorous in nature, so there's no reason to hold back. For example, the title screen. When Sonic is getting angry at the player for not pressing start, he keeps the same volume level. It would be ideal in my opinion to let him go crazy. In parodies like this, a little randomness is perfectly fine. More shouting, and maybe some other things, like pulling out weapons or something. The acid water skit also had this problem. I feel you could've done more with what happened to Tails in the water. He just had a few mumbles and slowly sank. This is probably the best skit to go crazy with, as Tails could do anything while dying, or something else could happen to him if you want to avoid predictability. A little predictability isn't bad, if not completely unavoidable, but too much will get boring to anyone familiar with them.

And then there was one skit, the one with Mario, that was just plain bad. It was way too long, Mario was hard to understand, and it had no punchline whatsoever. Skits like that really shouldn't be put in at all. they only hurt you movie as a whole.

Overall, work on delivery, avoid lengthy skits, and avoid too much predictability. If you're ever unsure about skits, it's best to run it by a friend or several and get second opinions on them.
