Nice game but..
I've already played a game with the same concept as this before here on NG, can't remember the name though. But I have to say that your game is definitely better. A pause button would really be helpful in this kind of game. Overall nice submission. By the way the music was great.
Really nice
pros -
-Variety of different units to work with to fit your taste
-Pretty fun multiplayer that requires cooperation and strategy to win
-Cool setting and pretty good art style
Cons -
-Nothing to balance the game when <insert-random-user-name-here> leaves you by yourself
-Glitches, bugs, and of course, hackers in multiplayer
-Inadequate layering (a lot of times a unit that should be behind another one appears in front of it, which makes it look awkward).
-Bad AI (really, it just sucks)
Things I would like to see -
-More variety in classes, such as getting different units for each class
-Super power... Something that could save your butt when xx number of units are attacking you. It has a looooooooooong reload time and both you and your partner have to agree to use it at that time.
-A better campaign. It was hard to follow and I couldn't tell what was going on at all. You could possibly make the chatbox more useful, maybe making the AI aware of what your saying and then change tactics (c'mon, igod did it, you can too!).
-More music and backgrounds. I got to tip my hat off to you for making the music not just be a loop, but I would of liked to hear a little more than a guitar every once and awhile. And speaking of backgrounds, online they could change depending on the mode (a planet made mostly of water could be dogfight, a planet that's constantly being bombarded by lightning could be cold war, etc.).
I'm just throwing around ideas, you know. Even with all the things I'd like to see improved, it's still a great game! I would love to see a sequel.
I'm gonna be unfair but hey...
I'll still give 8 because I would think I'd like it. That said, I didn't even play the first mission because I had to "chat" I lol'ed when I saw that. I have one hand on the mouse to play, one hand on my coffee and I was like uhhh wtf? I thought I was playing an RTS not an MMO. So now that you've gotten me perturbed enough to set my coffee down so I can write this review... I will try it. Seriously though, it's "cute" that you have to type to the CPU to start the first mission, but w/e.
Great game but level 5 is impossible..
