Great game
This is one of those games that you can just spend like 4 hours playing without getting bored. The art was good, music fit the theme, and the performance was pretty good.
What I like most about this game is how balanced the 2 races are. The multi layered human race was a pretty good opponent of the fast-damaging draylocks.
the battle system was pretty neat. I'm not sure I should say original, cause I'm pretty sure I played something like that before. However, each unit is so unique that the battle really became pretty dynamic.
Another thing I love is that you can really see the resource strain on the CPU when you take over their territories. I say that cause there are a lot of games out there that despite taking control of the resources, the CPU still manages to churn units out like crazy.
However, there some parts I thought it could be improved on (though its all quite small):
1) You might want to fix the unit models a bit. There are times where some units are blocking the health bar of another. Really threw me off some times.
2) I found that there is a small loophole in the system where I could get all the highest upgrades and units and number of armies right in the 2nd mission itself. After i took control of all the territories, I just surrounded my armies around the enemy castle, clicking end turn while stocking up the resources and slowly upgrade everything. By the time i started the 3rd mission, I was already fully upgraded with 9 armies max.
3) I found no reason to station units in territories. It was simpler just to use the armies to cover each place.
4) Yes the music is plagiarized. Didn't notice it until someone else said so. However, just give them credit for it and it should be fine.
Overall, I thought the game was really well done. Even though I found it a bit easy to manipulate, I still had like 4 hours of fun.
However, I keep having this nagging feeling the that the 2 races are not the direct compliment of each other. Maybe a 3rd race for the future?
