Reviews for "The Leon Wars"

blah

It was to easy. and than it just became really boring. It sucks =/

Have you played Ogre Battle before?

Because this is a very similar game -not that that's a bad thing. If not, you should try and find it (March Of The Black Queen for PS1 and Ogre Battle 64 for N64).

So, there was a lot to like about this game, but there are a lot of little things that need cleaning up:

-The leveling system is a nice idea, but being able to pay to level up doesn't really make sense. Make it one or the other, not both.

-More character classes would be nice, but even better would be more commanders. There's really only three or four configurations that are viable. Having 9 forces where 6 are copies isn't all that fun.

-Every battle (except maybe the first) should be a battle to the finish. I felt like I was just playing the first few rounds of every map.

-Don't make all classes available at first. That means that you can max out your army on the very first round, if you have the patience.

-More diverse maps! Give me some choices (Like setting my HQ in the middle of the map or having two enemy HQs).

-Better AI. Why can't the enemy generate armies? Why can they only attack once each turn? It makes this game _way_ too easy, plus it removes much needed strategy.

-The battle layout. It's very visually appealing, but sometimes it can become difficult to see things like the life bars/action bars of the back row. In fact, sometime if a character in the back row has the first move in battle, I can't actually see what character it is since the "Attack" and "Special" buttons cover them. The number fonts are also pretty small, so sometimes I misread numbers in enemy health bars.

-A simpler stat system. What does an attack of 72-134+25 mean? It makes the stats almost useless. Also, the speed stat and the action bar don't reveal the order of turns, which makes it difficult to plan special attacks.

It's great start, and I look forward to a sequel!

Almost there...

main issue: fix the save function... it does NOTHING!
Also some bonuses or random stuff mid game would be nice. Gets kinda boring after a while... also why cant beaten armies be recovered? O_o;

Pretty Good

I did enjoy there is always room for improvement.
Mainly the whole idea of maybe re-researching might make the game more challenging.
Excellent concept. Decent Sound Track. A bit repetitive.

Pretty good

it was a good game but it gets boring fast. I love the idea of armys and upgrading but it was way too easy and kinda repetitive good game other wise.
