Opponents?
I couldnt find anything to kill... When I started up mission one, there was nothing in the first room, and when I left the first room through the top of the screen it brought me back to the main menu instead of letting me progress.

Yep, that's one damn bug I cannot explain, I happened to get it a few times, but it got NOTHING to do with me!
This one is probably an issue of flash itself, since it tends to happen on some computers, and on some others not.
I'm horribly sorry for this :(

Game play: Well, not at all, it gets far better at the end, I am well aware that, at the start, it sucks a little ;)
Difficulty: Whoa! Are you kidding me? Beat mission 15 and/or the additional boss and rate again!

Overall: Well, I guess we both have different kinds of views, but from what you said, I can guess that you didn't got very far because you were bored or just wanted to write a review + get blam points lol

Game-play felt nice, I like the way the bullets fired, and movement was alright. I liked progression from one screen to the next. The alt attacks and shield system, I had no interest in whatsoever. There were issues with slowdown/ freezing.
My main comment though: this game is incredibly painful to look at. I couldn't even play that far through the tutorial. It's not even that you need better artwork or anything, just make different choices of color and contrast. Make sure the background elements are within 10 points of each-other in value and saturation. Then make sure the foreground elements are either darker or lighter than the background elements by about 40 points. Phew

I believe what FlaskMan meant about the menus being "hard to understand" is that the cost of the second item from the top is overlapping with the word "paused", so you can't actually read it. Giving the shop its own background (like in the character panel) would help that a lot.
Yeah, that game needs a few other updates also, so this one may find a place in my todo :)
