Reviews for "Paradox Embrace"

Pretty good

This was a very neat game indeed.

I like how you put a little twist in the puzzle platformer by creating orbs that create pretty much other realities where the enemies, environment, you, the background, and even the music changes.

It was very well made!

EntropicOrder responds:

Thanks very much!

Very well crafted game

Very enjoyable game, excellent blend of different genres, well worth the time to write a careful review.

- Beautiful art, if a bit redundant. Perhaps a bit more variety in creatures and scenery would have improved the experience greatly.

- Good playability, with some objections (see below). The size and difficulty of the levels are very carefully design so they take enough time to be interesting but not so long that they become boring.

- Great soundtrack, takes long enough to become too repetitive, but in the end it doe, would have been nice a little more variety. I liked especially how the background music crossfades between different styles to suit the art of the different planes, the changes in orchestration work perfectly to set up the desired mood.

Minor criticisms:

- Character control is not very responsive, has a lot of inertia and lacks a clear relationship with the background, so it is sometimes difficult to time jumps without unexpectedly bumping into a roof or a creature. However this happens seldom enough and the very forgiving life recovery system makes up for it.

- In relation with this, but also having to do with the design of a level... at a certain spot, I don't recall exactly in what level, it was very difficult to time a jump. I kept being bumped backwards by a close wall after landing and fell down. To reach again that spot I had to go back to a star changer that was too far behind, it got a bit annoying.

- I didn't realize I had to play the very first level until I finished the last and I missed any kind of ending sequence. At first I didn't consider the beginning spot was a playable level since I could advance to the second one without playing it.

All in all it was a very professional result, I hope you guys can make some good dough out of it, perhaps with a cellphone version.

EntropicOrder responds:

- I agree it would have been great to fill this thing to the brim with more enemies, more changing elements, etc.
- Happy to hear you liked the level design. They really did take a long time to plan out!
- I'd love to go mobile with this game, but its engine is a bit of a beast and I don't think any cellphone could handle it. :)

Thanks for the thorough response. I'll keep those things in mind for future games.

Fun

Kind of lame in the end but anyways very good game, fun !! :)

simple but very good

Graphics: 3/3 ''nice detailed''
Sound: 3/3 ''I can sing this al the day long''
Gameplay: 3/4 ''simple but fun nice puzzels''

Awesome Game!!!

I like the ability to switch between different characters to go through different barriers. I also like the enemies, but I think it could've been a little bit harder.
