Reviews for "Paradox Embrace"

Specially ingenious

The idea of changing the environment instead the character is good, and its gratifying to complete a level, but you can't just show all your work in a level. I don't know if the game changes a lot since level 7. I got bored of repeating the same things, and I couldn't continue.
Make it more new each level!

Hell Yeah!

I missed the fact that on Newgrounds there wasn't any platform game like this one. Now there's Paradox and I'm kinda happy about that - I almost got all the Medals LOL

Very funny game to play

Puzzledaemon.

Suffice to say, the Lazydaemon is also the demon master of mazes and tricky puzzles. Laziness begets a bored mind awaiting challenges, hence actually figuring out the puzzles was not impossible. Actually, showing the level at the beginning would only serve to confuse me, as handling it a bit at a time is how I like to do things.

But enough of that revelry! I speak now of reviews. Let's see... I enjoyed it, I found the nuances most amusing and fun, the music and the animation was cool. I found a BIT of lag, but I was running on high quality, so that happens. Every obstacle, including dodging monsters, is possible and plausible. I liked the transition between happy-go-lucky, evil-land-of-sorcery, and SCIENCE! Oh, and special mention to the ummm...instructions, since it was along the lines of "Okay, we'll show you what to control and what not to hit, but the rest is up to you.". Faboo, man.

So, I'll give this my awesome support, sure. *Puts a Lazydaemon Approved stamp on it* Cheers.

This Is A Basic Review

The artwork and animation are great, but truthfully a bit uninspiring... and this mainly is the fault of the animation itself. When your main character walks and the enemies move it seems a bit unrealistic and not even that awkward realistic cartoony feel either, it's like he's a robot or something. The controls work wonderfully, I have no complaints on jumping and moving these are wonderful. The gameplay however is hit and miss. It's a puzzle platformer much like the game Lode Runner where you have to dodge bad guys collect goodies and get the treasure at the end, however you tweaked it with this sort of time traveling deal changing the texture of the land and even the music with it. From peaceful village area, to medieval times, and future. It's all here. The sound is also hit and miss, there aren't many sound effects here and what's here isn't all that good, but the background music defitnitely makes up for it. Now there are some things I want to gripe about and that being that the hit detection of some of the enemies and obstacles is just stupid especially in later levels and even some of the earlier levels you're in narrow ways which isn't easy to navigate through to begin with... however it is nice that your health recharges over time.

Really Fun Game that kept me intersted but.....

So......Great puzzle plate-former. The idea of changing your surrounding worked perfectly and the game ran smooth as silk. As other have commented a sequel should be made here to remove the issues with this one. The obvious first one is the story sucked. I was hoping for cuts scenes at every level so that story really went some where. Unfortunately that just didn't happen. The story was just not there. As for gameplay.....while the game kept my interest until the very end, the game puzzles were very easy to solve. The hardest part was finishing a level without taking any damage. Unfortunately while I enjoy playing the levels. I was left with zero desire to replay any of the levels. You should make the path you need to take in the puzzles less obvious. It would be awesome if you created multiple paths to get to the end of the puzzle and possibly adding in other items to collect. So you could take teh shortest path or collect other items for bonuses you could come up with. As I said great game and well worth the playing, but is definitely only a one shot puzzler lacking replay value. I look forward to the follow up of this game.
