Reviews for "The Farm."

Hilarious and addicting!

This was really, really good! While the enemies were quite small, they were still detailed, smoothly animated (and I love the retro pixel style). Sound effects were crispy and very satisfying (especially the heli, tank explosions).

The whole concept of a simple farmer and his sheep being under attack by such a ragtag group of attackers is hilarious, so kudos there! As well as the whole idea of that same farmer having an orbital strike sattellite, a huge rocket launcher and the lot.

The only two complaints I have about this game is perhaps that it's too easy. While the first couple of levels rely on you shooting accurately, since you have no other weapon or backup, the latter levels are mostly a slaughterfest, with the exception of those... er... enemies with.. tails? Those are quite hard to kill, even with all upgrades. Still, it was a bit too easy.

The other complaint goes hand in hand with the first one - it's too easy, meaning money's too easy to come by, so you can get all upgrades quite early on, which leaves you with a pile of money without anything to spend it on. More upgrades and weapons would be a nice addition. However, I'd be happy to have all this in a sequel.

All in all, an amazingly addicting and fun game with wonderfully smoothly animated pixel graphics and hilarious concept! I loved it!

Good!

I really liked it, great sound and graphics. All that I would change is more levels, and something to spend all my excess money on! Keep at it!

excellent

a terrific game, very adictive, but not enough upgrades or enemies or weapons, by about the 6th wave you have all this spare money and nothing to use it on, but other than that a great game. cant wait for number 2

Entertaining yet strangely easy.

This game was very easy if you have hand eye coordination at all. I would suggest making different difficulties or possibly more enemies / upgrades to compensate.

I got 2nd place on the scoring which I dont know how it calculates, but that's a moot point.

Not fully realized, perhaps?

I hate to not give the game a higher rating- the concepts behind the game are sound and the gameplay is quite solid- but there's a few slightly annoying bits that detract from the experience.

The combo multiplier is a good idea, but to be perfectly honest, you're dead in the water if you aren't killing enemies at a rate that constantly keeps the meter at x9. Docking the multiplier every time you miss a shot is a good idea, but the fact remains that if you're not at a x9 multiplier at all times simply due to the volume of enemies you fight, it's because you're already dead. Maybe the penalty for a missed shot could be a little more severe?

As well-thought-out as the upgrade system is, it'd be nice to be able to double-check what certain upgrades do once you've purchased them, and I really don't like how, in tandem with how easy it is to stay at x9 for the nearly the entire game, that you'll be at Level 3 in every single stat at around the game's halfway point. Again, something that either making it harder to reach x9 would fix, or better, more upgrades to spend the $150,000 I just ended the game with on.

Though I beat it, It'd also be nice to know how far along in the game I am, since the trophies plainly state that the game ends at a certain point- and the game never really builds up in a way that lets you know 'this is the last wave'- the game basically just tells you 'all right, the end' and stops after enough waves.

Anything I didn't mention, you got right. I love the ending, by the way. =3

Fix a few of the game's balance issues and this would be one of the finest defense games I've played. As it stands, it's simply a good one.
